The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is the third limited-edition supercar in the Icona series, officially unveiled by Ferrari at the Mugello Circuit in Italy in November 2021. Serving as the latest Icona creation following the 2018 Monza SP1 and SP2, the Daytona SP3 pays tribute to Ferrari's mid-rear-engined V12 Sports Prototype racers of the 1960s. Jointly spearheaded by engineer Mauro Forghieri and Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, it marks Ferrari's first road-going model powered by a mid-mounted V12 engine since the LaFerrari hybrid hypercar. Production is strictly limited to 599 units globally, with a base price exceeding 2 million Euros.

Design Language
The exterior styling of the Daytona SP3 draws cues from 1960s motorsport design language, taking inspiration from legendary racing machines such as the 330 P3/4, 330 P4, and 412 P. Up front, it features a sculpted front grille, complemented by double-crested front wings that pay homage to classic Ferrari Sports Prototypes. Along the flanks, butterfly doors stand out as a key design highlight, directing airflow to the side-mounted radiators via integrated air boxes. At the rear, a full-width light bar is fitted, flanked by centrally positioned dual exhaust tailpipes and an aggressive, oversized rear diffuser below. The overall vehicle height stands at just 1,142 mm. Both the chassis and bodyshell are engineered entirely from composite materials, utilising aerospace-grade T800 carbon fibre for the outer body. The cabin embraces a minimalist theme, upholstered in premium black suede for a bespoke ambience, with seats integrated directly into the chassis tub, paired with an adjustable pedal box.
Powertrain and Performance
Powering the Daytona SP3 is a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, codenamed the F140HC. Based on the 812 Competizione's F140HB unit, this 65° V12 powerplant has been extensively re-engineered for a mid-rear layout, pushing out a staggering 840 hp (840 cv) and 697 Nm of peak torque, with a rev ceiling reaching 9,500 rpm. The engine incorporates titanium connecting rods, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coated piston pins, and a rebalanced crankshaft, shaving 3% off its overall weight. Power is channelled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The sprint from 0-100 km/h is dispatched in just 2.85 seconds, while 0-200 km/h takes merely 7.4 seconds, onwards to a top speed of over 340 km/h. Combined fuel consumption on the WLTP cycle is rated at 16.2 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 368 g/km.
Chassis and Handling
The Daytona SP3 is built around the LaFerrari Aperta monocoque chassis, featuring a mid-rear engine configuration. The platform integrates Formula 1 engineering technologies not seen on a road-legal sports car since the LaFerrari. It tips the scales with a dry weight of just 1,485 kg. Its electronic chassis suite incorporates the F1-Trac traction control system, e-Diff 3.0 electronic differential, and Side Slip Control (SSC 6.1). Notably, the Daytona SP3 is the first mid-engined V12 Ferrari to feature the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE), noticeably sharpening cornering agility. It rides on bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres specially developed for this model.
Cockpit and Equipment
The cabin layout is strictly driver-focused. The fixed seats are moulded straight into the carbon tub, trimming weight whilst providing an authentic, race-car-like driving position. The interior is lavishly trimmed in Alcantara and exposed carbon fibre. A sweeping dashboard fascia wraps across the windscreen base, extending towards the quarter lights to create an enveloping cockpit feel. Up top, it features a removable Targa hardtop roof. In addition, the Daytona SP3 was digitally rendered and introduced to the racing simulator Assetto Corsa EVO in December 2025.
Safety and Chassis Electronics
The Daytona SP3 comes comprehensive with active and passive safety provisions. The carbon fibre monocoque offers immense structural rigidity and crash protection. On the electronics front, the F1-Trac system works in tandem with SSC 6.1, ensuring precise, controllable, and secure handling even when driven on the absolute limit. Deceleration is handled by a high-performance carbon-ceramic braking system.
Market Performance and Value
The Daytona SP3 is strictly limited to 599 units worldwide. Base pricing started at over 2 million Euros (approximately RM14,420,000). Overseas reports indicated a US-market base price of USD 2,218,935 (approximately RM15,930,000). The entire production run was fully spoken for by Ferrari's VIP clientele ahead of its public debut. Customer deliveries commenced in late 2022, running through 2024. In 2025, an example fetched USD 26 million (approximately RM187,000,000) at an RM Sotheby's auction, smashing the world record for a newly built Ferrari at public auction. As the Prancing Horse’s ultimate mid-mounted naturally aspirated V12 road car, the Daytona SP3 combines an 840 hp engine, race-bred chassis dynamics, and historic design cues to set an unrepeatable benchmark in the ultra-exclusive realm of collectible supercars.
