Proton X70 delivers a feature-rich cabin and practical five-seat layout

The upright SUV proportions give the Proton X70 a substantial road presence, while the prominent grille, defined lighting elements, roof rails and 18-inch wheels create a contemporary and purposeful look. Its body dimensions retain a manageable footprint for daily urban use.

The cabin is well equipped for everyday family use, combining leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, electric adjustment for the driver and armrests for both rows. A 12.3-inch centre display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice control and four USB or Type-C ports make connectivity straightforward, while dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, rear vents and an air purifier suit Malaysia's climate.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder produces 181 PS and 290 Nm, with peak torque available from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm for accessible mid-range response in daily driving. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to the front wheels.

The five-seat layout makes full use of the 2,670 mm wheelbase, while the 1,831 mm body width provides a practical foundation for passenger accommodation across both rows. At 4,532 mm long, the vehicle balances family-oriented cabin packaging with dimensions that remain suitable for regular urban driving.

Core driving safeguards include ABS, brake-force distribution, brake assistance, traction control and electronic stability control. Front, side and curtain airbags extend occupant protection, while front and rear parking sensors plus a 360-degree camera make low-speed manoeuvring around tight spaces more manageable.

The petrol-powered Proton X70 carries a 60-litre fuel tank, providing useful capacity for commuting and longer-distance journeys. Actual refuelling intervals will vary with traffic, driving style and operating conditions.
