BYD Ranks 91st on 2026 Fortune Global 500 List: Annual Report Interpretation

Chejian Wan Yi News — On July 28, the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list was officially released. BYD entered the list for the fifth consecutive year, ranking 91st this time, remaining within the top 100.

According to the annual report disclosed by BYD previously, in 2025 the company achieved total revenue of 804 billion yuan and net profit of 32.6 billion yuan. New energy vehicle sales for the full year were 4.6 million units, retaining the titles of global new energy vehicle sales champion and Chinese market vehicle sales champion, among others. From January to June 2026, cumulative sales exceeded 1.8 million units. In July of the same year, BYD announced the production of the 17 millionth new energy vehicle; according to public information, this is currently the first enterprise to reach this milestone.

Regarding R&D investment, BYD's R&D investment in 2025 was 63.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17%, ranking first among A-share listed companies for two consecutive years. R&D investment reached 11.3 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026. To date, cumulative R&D investment by the company has exceeded 250 billion yuan. At the technical product level, in March 2026, BYD launched the second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charge technology, planning to build 20,000 Flash Charge stations nationwide by the end of the year, and will layout 6,000 Flash Charge stations overseas. In May, BYD announced that all vehicle models can be equipped with the Sky Eye B assisted driving Laser version, and provided a one-year safety guarantee commitment for the city pilot function.

Regarding the overseas market, in 2025 BYD's overseas sales broke through 1 million units for the first time, a year-on-year increase of 145%; in the first half of 2026, overseas sales exceeded 780,000 units. Currently, BYD's business covers 121 countries and regions worldwide. In terms of regional layout, the company's first overseas SkyRail in Brazil has been opened, and the 100,000th new energy vehicle has rolled off the production line at the Brazilian factory; Denza Z, Z9GT, and D9 have entered the European market; the first overseas exclusive model Sea Otter (BYD RACCO) has landed in Japan; the Thailand factory has been in production for two full years.

In terms of sustainable development and social responsibility, as of June 30, compared to traditional fuel vehicles, BYD new energy vehicles have cumulatively achieved carbon emission reductions of 149 million tons in the energy production and usage stages, equivalent to planting 2.48 billion trees. In addition, BYD has launched a 3 billion yuan education charity fund, reached donation agreements with 127 universities nationwide, covering over 6,000 students.
