October 1, 2026, Beijing — On the eve of the penultimate round of the GT World Challenge Asia Cup presented by AWS, Cheng Congfu and Yu Kuai from the FAW Audi Sport Asia Ghost Racing Team lead the Silver Class and China Cup standings. The event will be held at the Beijing Street Circuit from October 2 to 4. However, this talented Chinese duo will firmly focus their efforts on the ultimate prize – the GT3 Drivers' Overall Season Championship. Teammates Andrés Pato and Jaxon Evans are still in the hunt for the Pro-Am Class and Drivers' Season Championship. With four rounds left in the season, the pair will team up for the first time driving the second-generation Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II to compete on this challenging 4.9-kilometer street circuit.

"With the final two critical races of the season approaching, Audi drivers and teams remain strong contenders for multiple championship titles in the 2026 GT World Challenge Asia Cup season." Alexander Blackie, Head of Audi Sport (Asia) Customer Racing, stated, "What matters most right now is to stay calm, find opportunities on the high-speed Beijing Street Circuit, and strive to maximize points in both races. At that time, the stands will be packed, with tens of thousands of spectators watching live, plus millions of fans following online. We are eager to kick off this home race weekend for Audi Sport (Asia) Customer Racing."

Two Audi Sport Asia Ghost Racing crews arrived at the Chinese capital bringing the glorious achievement of Audi sweeping the overall championship in both rounds at the Okayama round in August. At that time, each crew secured one victory, now they will bring this winning momentum into the ultimate showdown of the penultimate round of the season.

The Beijing Street Circuit made its debut last season as the venue for the 2025 season finale. For Cheng Congfu, born in Beijing, this is a home race. Last year, he and his teammate Yu Kuai crowned themselves Silver Cup Season Champions after a thrilling season-long battle here.

After eight rounds of this prestigious event, Cheng Congfu and Yu Kuai are currently fourth in the GT3 Drivers' Overall Standings, leading the Silver Cup Season Championship hunt with a 13-point advantage, and topping the China Cup standings with a 15-point advantage. Additionally, 25-year-old talented driver Yu Kuai leads the newly added 2026 GT World Challenge Asia Cup GT3 SRO Academy Standings by 14 points.

The brand new Pro-Am duo Pato and Evans can be called the dark horse of the season, having delivered countless highlights in the season so far. An unfortunate retirement at the Fuji round damaged their points tally, but the overall victory at the Okayama round plus two other overall podiums keep the experienced Indonesian driver and the talented 30-year-old New Zealand driver firmly in the hunt for the GT3 Drivers' Overall Championship and Pro-Am Class Season Championship.

The Beijing Street Circuit consists of the streets around the Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Tongming Lake Park, presenting a classic picture combining high-rise buildings with tranquil scenery. This challenging circuit poses a true test to drivers' skills and engineers' setup capabilities, staging many spectacular battles in 2025.

Official Practice will commence on October 2 (Friday), with all participating drivers undergoing one one-hour practice session, followed by a 30-minute practice session for Bronze-rated drivers. Pre-qualifying sessions begin on Saturday morning at 08:30, with two qualifying sessions following at 11:50. The first race starts at 15:45 on that day, and the second 60-minute race starts on Sunday at 15:00 (all times in Beijing Time UTC+8).
