On October 11, Avatr unveiled the T09 concept in Paris, and the interior design was fully revealed for the first time. According to the official schedule, this vehicle will be officially launched in 2026, followed by a debut at the Paris Motor Show from October 12 to 18 alongside the 06T and 07L.

This is the first car of the Avatr flagship series, and also a stepping stone to break into the 500,000-level luxury SUV market. In Avatr's words, this is the mass-produced model with the highest technical density developed jointly by Changan, Huawei, and CATL. To translate: From design to powertrain to intelligence, almost all high-spec configurations that can be packed have been packed.

A New Product Line, A More Expensive Avatr

Avatr has relied on models like 11, 12, 06, and 07 to enter the market over the past few years, with prices mainly ranging from 200,000 to 400,000, and the design philosophy follows "elegance, sportiness, and individuality." With the arrival of the T09, Avatr officially splits into two product lines: the Digital series focuses on casual luxury, and the Flagship series focuses on respectful luxury. This is a clear statement of brand elevation—it does not want to stay in the "new force mid-range" segment forever.

At the press conference, Chairman Chen Zhuo and Chief Designer Nader Faghihzadeh both appeared on stage. Chen Zhuo said it directly: The Digital series corresponds to elegance, sportiness, and individuality, while the Flagship series corresponds to nobility, composure, and presence; Designer Nader calls the T09 a realization of the "Emotional New Luxury" philosophy at the flagship dimension. Both are emphasizing the same point: This is not simply a larger Avatr with a body shell change, but a strategic fulcrum for brand elevation.

A "President Face", Putting Presence All Over

First, let's look at the face. The most eye-catching part of the T09's front face is that 3D relief grille, embedded with 362 Avatr LOGO elements of varying heights and depths, creating an effect of light and dark flow as light scans over it. This approach is quite clever: Other brands' grilles are either horizontal bars or dot matrices, while Avatr turns the logo itself into a "texture", achieving instant brand recognition and ritual sense.

The headlight group uses an inner and outer dual-layer diamond cut, and officially claims it can present a "diamond fire" texture. Placed on the nose of a full-size SUV, this lighting system holds its ground—it's neither the aggressive slim-eye route, nor the old-fashioned administrative route, the sense of proportion is handled well.

The hood is equally impressive. A 2.1 square meter clamshell front hood, with island-like rises on both sides. Viewed from the front, it looks steady and stable, while viewed from the side, it conveys a hint of power. The side of the body uses sharp, blade-like lines, and the wheel arches have a waist-receding curve, overall belonging to the type that "looks expensive but not ostentatious". The D-pillar is decorated with aluminum trim plates, blending with the window contours and rear spoiler to create a floating roof visual effect; crystal door handles and sensor islands are distributed in staggered positions, with much thought put into the details.

The rear end features an integrated crystal diamond taillight, also using dual-layer diamond cutting, echoing the front lights. After being lit, there are obvious light and dark changes at different angles, not that "lit to the end" cheap feeling.

Overall, T09's design language is officially called "Respected Luxury", which sounds esoteric, but on the actual car, it comes down to four words: Dignified without anger. It did not deliberately seek to please young people, nor did it chase the trend of fastback coupes, it simply works hard to build a powerful large car—this choice is rather scarce in the current new energy vehicle market.

The Most Eye-Catching in the Cockpit is a Lift-able "Vortex"

The interior is the highlight of this premiere, after all, it has always been kept hidden. Sitting inside the car, the first thing noticed is the Vortex Emotional Vortex on the center console—a cylindrical interactive device that can rise and fall. The shell is a 360° seamless two-stage reverse curved surface, hiding 118 RGB LED bulbs inside, capable of linking with the whole vehicle ambient lighting to produce various lighting effects.

This thing is not just a decoration. When the vehicle starts, voice interaction occurs, music moves, or driving modes switch, it will give corresponding light feedback. Officially called "Emotional Interactive Design", in plain terms: The car can perceive your state and "greet" you with light. Extending interaction from the screen to physical structure is not common in the industry—most cars are still competing on who has a bigger screen or more powerful chip computing, while Avatr chooses to make a move on "emotional value".

In terms of details, the Vortex optimized the silent motor and mechanism operation, and specially added anti-pinch functionality. These two points may seem insignificant, but users with children at home will understand: If the lifting mechanism pinches a hand, the experience falls apart. Taking time and effort on such details shows it is being made as a "product", not a "gimmick".

Regarding the screen portion, the T09 offers an immersive integrated triple screen set: 10.25-inch driver instrument panel, plus two 17.2-inch center console screens and passenger screens, seamlessly connected to the air vents on both sides, like one super-wide canvas. The driver screen manages driving information, the center console screen manages vehicle functions, and the passenger screen handles independent entertainment, with NFC, phone touches to connect. Hardware specifications are up to par for the 500,000-level.

In official words, this cockpit pursues "Silence, Generosity, and Connection"—frankly speaking, it covers home use, business, and solitude.

Thousand Horsepower Hybrid + Huawei Smart Driving, No Savings on Technology

Power is another card up T09's sleeve. The new car is equipped with a new intelligent super hybrid technology, a 2.0T hybrid engine paired with a three-motor distributed electric drive, with a total system power exceeding one thousand horsepower. What is the concept of one thousand horsepower? In traditional fuel cars, this is supercar-level power performance; on a full-size SUV, it's just the two words "composure"—fully loaded, climbing slopes, overtaking, without even panting.

The battery provided is the CATL Xiao Yao Super Range-Extending·Hybrid Battery, with a capacity of 71.24kWh, and CLTC pure electric range exceeds 400 kilometers at the highest. This data belongs to the first tier among range extender/PHEVs: Daily commuting can be driven like a pure electric vehicle, and for long-distance travel, the engine provides a backup, covering both "range anxiety" and "pure electric experience".

In terms of intelligence, Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving and Harmony Cockpit come standard, basically "top-spec level standard configuration". Additionally, a new Taihang Smart Control technology set is responsible for chassis and handling, with an official goal of "million-level luxury driving texture". Marketing talk can be taken with a grain of salt, but the combination of Changan, Huawei, and CATL, the technical foundation is truly there—the reputation of Huawei's smart driving in the market is a solid competitiveness.

At the end of the day, at the 500,000 price point, consumers want not just the brand, but real configurations, experiences, and technology—T09's combination shows visible sincerity.

Why Insist on Premiering in Paris

Putting the global premiere in Paris, Avatr clearly calculated the accounts. Europe is the home base of traditional luxury brands and also the test ground with the highest gold content for verifying "luxury"—for the past hundred years, the global definition and discourse power of luxury have all started from here.

The official roadmap is very clear: Officially enter Europe in 2027, 06T and 07L as the first batch of core products will enter Norway and Spain first. Choosing these two markets has considerations: Norway is one of the countries with the highest EV penetration rate globally, consumers have extremely high acceptance of pure electric and high-end electric vehicles; Spain is then the bridgehead of Southern Europe.

Moreover, Avatr going overseas is not starting from scratch. Currently, overseas business has spread to 70 countries and regions, the average selling price of products exceeds 300,000 yuan, officially stating that profitability has been achieved. Several public data points can be referenced: In Egypt, Avatr's share of the high-end EV market reached 10%; In Thailand, Avatr 11 is the sales leader in the luxury pure electric SUV market. In other words, Avatr going overseas is no longer in the "testing the waters" phase, but has already run through the business model in some regions, now aiming to reach the European high ground.

What supports overseas expansion is the continuously extended product line. Currently, Avatr has on sale multiple models such as 11, 12, 06/06T, 07/07L, etc., with price range extending from over 200,000 all the way to over 400,000. After the T09 launches, the matrix will push up to the 500,000-level.

By 2030, Avatr's plan is to enter over 110 countries and regions, with overseas sales accounting for more than half of total sales. Whether the goal is radical or not will be seen in three years. But one thing can be determined: In the current situation where market involution is intensifying in the Chinese market and price wars seem endless, going overseas is almost a mandatory question for all Chinese automakers. Avatr thinks quite clearly, and the moves are fast enough.

The Gold Content of the Flagship Needs to Wait for Launch to Verify

Back to T09 itself: 500,000-level, flagship series, thousand horsepower hybrid, Huawei smart driving, Paris premiere—Avatr has played basically all the cards it can. The design follows the route of "expensive but not ostentatious", technically packing the three-party resources to the limit of mass-produced cars, and in brand strategy, it has put on a stance of walking on two legs: domestic push for high-end, overseas expand market.

There is only one remaining question to answer: When launched in 2026, how much is the price, how is the actual driving experience, and can delivery and after-sales support the flagship positioning. After all, in the 500,000-level market, the opponents are no others, but the electrification products of traditional powerhouses like BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and domestic high-end ones like Li Auto L9, AITO M9. Whether T09 can tear a gap, the answer must wait until the car is truly in the hands of users to count.
