Yes. Under the new Malaysian EV road tax structure effective January 1, 2026, taxes are based on motor power (kW). Since the Air EV's motor is rated at approximately 30kW to 50kW, the annual road tax would be extremely low, estimated at only RM40 to RM60 per year, making it much cheaper than an equivalent 1.3L petrol car.
