The CAM Placer-X is available with two engine options. The petrol version uses a 2.4-litre 4RB2 16-valve DOHC petrol engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The diesel version is equipped with a 2.5-litre common rail turbo diesel engine (DK4B1) with intercooler, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Both versions are front-engine, rear-wheel drive.
