Who makes Chery engines?

The engines of Chery Automobile are mainly independently developed and produced by its parent company, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., which is headquartered in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, China, and has a complete engine R&D and manufacturing system. Its main products are the ACTECO series engines, covering displacements from 1.5L to 2.0L, including models such as SQR477F (1.5L naturally aspirated), SQRE4G16 (1.6L), and SQR481FC (1.8L), which are widely used in Chery's sedans, SUVs, and sub-brand models like the Tiggo series and Karry. These engines adopt technologies such as SOHC/DOHC and DVVT, and some models have won the title of "China's Top 10 Engines", reflecting Chery's balance between fuel efficiency and power performance. Its engine factories are located in China and have not been established in Malaysia for production.
