The rearview mirror is a key safety component on a vehicle used to observe road conditions behind, divided into the interior rearview mirror (located inside the windshield) and exterior rearview mirrors (on both sides of the left and right doors). The interior rearview mirror is mainly used to monitor the dynamics of vehicles directly behind, assisting in judging the distance between vehicles and preventing glare at night; the exterior rearview mirrors cover the view of the lanes on both sides to reduce blind spots. Some models are equipped with heating, electric folding, or automatic downward tilting functions when reversing to cope with rainy conditions, narrow roads, or parking scenarios. To adjust the rearview mirror correctly, the principle of "the vehicle body occupying 1/4 of the mirror surface with the horizon centered" should be followed to ensure both close and long-distance road conditions are considered. Although small, the rearview mirror is a core piece of equipment for drivers to anticipate risks and ensure driving safety, and its technological evolution also reflects the continuous optimization of automotive safety design.
