The car rearview mirror was originally called "COP-SPOTTER", a name derived from the official designation given by inventor Elmer Berger when he patented it in 1921. The prototype of the rearview mirror can be traced back to 1906, when British female racing driver Dorothy Levitt proposed the concept of carrying a mirror to observe the rear. In 1911, American racing driver Ray Harroun first fixed a mirror on a racing car for practical application. With technological progress, they gradually evolved into standard safety components on modern cars. From the initial simple observation tool to today's devices integrating intelligent functions such as anti-glare and blind spot monitoring, the evolution of rearview mirrors reflects the progress of automotive safety technology, and their core function has always been to expand the driver's field of view and improve driving safety.
