KLIMS 2026: 2026 Honda Prelude launched in Malaysia, two-door coupe price from RM 278,000

At the ongoing 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (2026 KLIMS), Honda Malaysia has launched the new 2026 Honda Prelude.

The sole variant is priced at RM 278,000, on-the-road without insurance. It is imported (CBU) from Japan.

As a brief recap, the 2026 Honda Prelude features Honda’s trick petrol-electric e:HEV hybrid powertrain, which sees a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre petrol engine hooked up to an electric motor.

Combined system output is 203 PS, which does not seem like a lot for a sporty two-door coupe, but that’s not the point.

Ever since the inception of the Prelude back in the 70s, the model was never meant to be an outright sports car. Instead, the concept of the Prelude is to be a grand tourer, one that you won’t think twice to choose for a long-distance drive.

That said, the Prelude does offer some Civic Type R-derived bits – the Dual Axia front suspension and steering rack are lifted off the FL5 Civic Type R, albeit tuned for a more relaxing driving experience. The Prelude also offers Brembo brakes that are finished in blue.

Now that the 2026 Honda Prelude has officially gone on sale, could this sleek coupe convince you over the Toyota GR86?
