KLIMS 2026: Hyundai Stargazer facelift previewed ahead of Q4 Malaysian launch; 1.5NA, from RM 99k, 3 variants on offer

Following its regional rollout in Indonesia and Thailand, the 2026 Hyundai Stargazer facelift has made its first official Malaysian appearance at KLIMS 2026. This preview gives local buyers a closer look at the heavily updated three-row, B-segment MPV before its scheduled local launch in the fourth quarter of this year, where it is set to challenge established segment rivals like the Toyota Veloz and Mitsubishi Xpander.

Hyundai Malaysia has indicated the we will be getting three variants of the imported (CBU) from Indonesia Stargazer:

- Hyundai Stargazer Style: RM 99,000
- Hyundai Stargazer Prime: RM 109,000
- Hyundai Stargazer X: RM 121,000

All prices are estimated, with the final prices set to be revealed upon the model's official launch later this year. 

Under the bonnet, all variants of the Stargazer are powered by a Smartstream 1.5-litre MPI naturally aspirated petrol engine. The powerplant generates 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Power is delivered to the wheels via Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), a specialised continuously variable transmission that utilises a robust chain drive instead of a conventional belt layout.

The B-MPV sits on 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55R16 tyres on the Style variant, while the Prime and X variants get larger 17-inch units, supported by front disc brakes and a rear drum brake setup.

- Gravity Gold Matte (X Only)

Dimensionally, the Stargazer Style and Prime measure 4,575 mm long, 1,780 mm wide, and 1,695 mm tall (Prime: 1,710 mm tall), riding on a 2,780 mm wheelbase. This footprint makes it 150 mm longer and 50 mm wider than a Perodua Alza, contributing to a spacious cabin layout configured with a 2+2+2 (X) or 2+3+2 (Style, Prime) seating configuration. The Stargazer X, due to its variant-exclusive body kit, measures 4,610 mm long, 1,820 mm wide, and 1,740 mm tall. 

The six-seater variant X offers a second row with a pair of individual captain seats, complete with a dedicated passenger table integrated into the left-hand-side seat back, while the seven-seater variants offers a second-row bench-style seat. 

Luggage utility stands at 185 litres with all seats upright, expanding to 585 litres with the third row stowed, and reaching a maximum capacity of 1,892 litres with both rear rows folded.

The refreshed interior layout introduces a modernised dashboard featuring an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display that natively supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the Style variant, paired with a 4.2-inch meter cluster for the driver. Audio is routed through a four-speaker sound system on the Style variant. 

As for the Prime and X variants, they offer a larger 10.25-inch digital driver display as well as a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. These two upper variants pump audio through a six-speaker sound system. 

Additional cabin comforts include smart keyless entry, an electric parking brake with auto hold (Prime & X variants), rear air-conditioning vents with dedicated manual controls, four selectable drive modes, a 40-litre fuel tank, and multiple connectivity ports, including up to three USB-C outlets and a pair of 12-volt sockets.

Visually, the MPV is equipped with automatic LED projectors headlamps for all variants with integrated LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, and LED turn signals housed within the power-folding, electrically adjustable side mirrors. 

Active safety package in the Prime and X variant include smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision avoidance assist, lane following and keeping assist, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, high beam assist, driver attention alert with leading vehicle departure alert, and a safe exit warning system. Passive safety is backed by 2 airbags on the Style, while the Prime and X variants offer six airbags.
