You read the title right – upon the official arrival of the Zeekr 9X in Malaysia, it could likely hold the title for the priciest Chinese car in Malaysia.

No word on when the Zeekr 9X will launch in Malaysia as yet, but Zeekr Malaysia has confirmed that bookings are opened for its flagship SUV, carrying with it an estimated price of RM 800,000.
Why exorbitant price you ask? That’s because the Zeekr 9X isn’t an EV; instead, it is the marque’s first-ever plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Under the bonnet lies a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to, not one, not two, but three electric motors that offers a total system output of 1,030 kW (1,400 PS) and 1,410 Nm of torque.
The electric motors are powered by NMC battery packs, varying between 55- to 70-kWh in capacity.

Don’t let its 3-tonne weight fool you – the Zeekr 9X can complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in as little as 3.1 seconds. Top speed, regardless of variant, is rated at 240 km/h.

Being a PHEV also means that the Zeekr 9X can be plugged in. Thanks to its 6C charging rate, the Zeekr 9X can be recharged from 20% to 80% in just 9 minutes.

There’s also a host of luxury amnesties – a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor hints at its autonomous driving capabilities, in addition to its active roll control suspension system, three-row seating layout, and 3,800-watt Naim sound system.

Its estimated RM 800,000 price tag certainly isn’t cheap, but it is an over-the-top SUV with eye-watering performance figures to back it up. Stay tuned for its official launch here.
