Pajero fans, rejoice! We recently obtained spyshots of the upcoming 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero doing rounds in Thailand.
The Mitsubishi Pajero has been synonymous with SUVs, and this evergreen SUV is set to return for the fifth generation. The fourth-generation Pajero, codenamed V80/V90, was introduced in 2006 and soldiered on till 2018.

For its fifth iteration, the Pajero will share its underpinnings with the sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton, codenamed LC. This mirrors a similar arrangement where manufacturers like Toyota, Isuzu, Ford, and Nissan, in which they adapt their pick-up platform for SUVs like these:

These spyshots, courtesy of Motor Thailand, does hint that Mitsubishi is benchmarking the Pajero against the Ford Ranger, suggesting that at least for Thailand, the Pajero could be fitted with a diesel powertrain. Other markets, such as Australia, could see a more sophisticated petrol-electric plug-in hybrid (PHEV) on offer.

After all, Mitsubishi Motors themselves have teased the new-gen Pajero on their social media platforms late last month. A late-2026 could be on the cards, at least for the Thai market.
Excited yet? Hang tight – Toyota’s challenger to the pick-up passenger vehicle (PPV), the Fortuner, will be getting a new generation model too.
