The all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5 has received five-star safety ratings from both Euro NCAP and ANCAP, with the compact SUV scoring strongly across occupant protection, vulnerable road user protection and safety assist categories.

The compact SUV recorded five-star results in both the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) and the ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program).

For its 5-star Euro NCAP assessment, the CX-5 scored: 90 percent in Adult Occupant Protection, 89 percent in Child Occupant Protection, 93 percent in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 83 percent in Safety Assist Technology.

These figures more or less mirror its 5-star ANCAP performance where the CX-5 scored 90 percent in Adult Occupant Protection, 91 percent in Child Occupant Protection, 93 percent in Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 87 percent in Safety Assist Technology.

Of note, its 93 percent score in Vulnerable Road User Protection is the highest rating ANCAP has awarded under its 2025 testing criteria.

In Malaysia, the next-gen 2026 Mazda CX-5 is expected to launch here sometime this year, with bookings already open this past KLIMS in June 2026.

Indicative specs for our market show it'll have a 2.5-litre e-SkyActiv G mild-hybrid powertrain, and with prices starting at around RM 170,000.
