Honda Super One set to debut in Indonesia soon – second market after Singapore, could Malaysia be next?

Honda Indonesia is set to debut the 2026 Honda Super-One in the country real soon. Upon its launch, which is rumoured to happen during the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2026 GIIAS) later this month, Indonesia will be the second country after Singapore to debut Honda's trick EV. 

The Honda Super-One is positioned around delivering an engaging driving experience — something Honda frames as central to the brand's identity. The five-door hatchback is also claimed to be the lightest battery electric vehicle (BEV) in its class, with a kerb weight of just 1,290 kg.

Positioned as an affordable urban EV, the Super-One measures 3,990 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,580 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. That makes it similar in size to the BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora Good Cat, although Honda has opted for a cleaner, more rounded design rather than following the increasingly common crossover styling.

The front end features slim LED headlamps linked by a full-width light bar, while the rear echoes the same treatment with connected LED taillights. Flush-type door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels further contribute to the car's efficiency-focused design.

Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist layout centred around a large floating infotainment touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. Physical buttons have been kept to a minimum, while the dashboard features a horizontal design intended to maximise the sense of space.

Honda says the Super-One is built around a new lightweight EV platform, allowing it to tip the scales at just 1,290 kg – significantly lighter than many similarly-sized electric hatchbacks currently on sale. The lower weight not only improves efficiency but is also expected to deliver more responsive handling and better driving dynamics.

The Super-One is powered by an electric motor producing 64 PS and 162 Nm of torque, with output increasing to 90 PS in BOOST mode. It's paired with a 29.6-kWh battery offering a claimed range of 274 km, though exact test cycle wasn't mentioned. DC fast charging capability allows the battery to be replenished from 30% to 80% in around 25 minutes, while AC charging is also supported for home and public charging applications.

As with Honda's latest generation of models, the Super-One comes equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition. 

Closer to home, a test unit of the Honda Super-One was spotted on the streets of Malaysia, hinting that the local launch is a matter of "when", rather than "if".
