Slightly over a year since the introduction of the BMW 218 Gran Coupe Sport in the country, BMW Malaysia has just launched the 2026 BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport. The new M Sport variant supersedes the non-M Sport variant.
Limited to 50 units in its first allocation, the M Sport variant adds sharper design details, upgraded driver assistance, and Adaptive M Suspension over the standard Sport variant. The model was unveiled at BMW Clubhouse, an event open to the public from 17-July to 19-July 2026 at Factory 19 PJ.

The BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport continues to be locally-assembled (CKD) at the Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah. It's priced at RM 192,800. Add the BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) and the price increases to RM 204,800.

The M Sport variant features the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow grille with vertical and diagonal kidney bars, flanked by adaptive LED headlights forming BMW's signature four-eyed light graphic. In profile, the car gains Individual High-Gloss Shadowline trim, 18-inch M light alloy wheels in Y-spoke Style 975M Bicolour, and high-gloss black mirrors with body-coloured caps.

At the rear, vertical LED taillights are paired with a new M Sport rear diffuser. Overall length is 4.55 metres, with wheelbase unchanged from the previous generation.
The BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport is offered in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Portimao Blue, with Veganza Perforated upholstery in Black across all exterior colours, and Coral Red exclusive to the Black Sapphire exterior.

Inside, the M Sport package adds "Illuminated" Aluminium Graphite trim, an M leather steering wheel, ambient lighting with M-coloured accents, and M-coloured decorative stitching. The cabin is built around BMW's Curved Display, combining a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and 10.7-inch control display, running BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect.

Front sport seats offer electric adjustment with memory function, with Veganza perforated upholstery as standard. Luggage capacity is 430 litres. New additions exclusive to the M Sport variant include a Heads-Up Display, an M Anthracite headliner, and a 12-speaker, 205-watt Harman Kardon sound system.

The M Sport variant uses the same 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder Miller-cycle petrol engine as the standard Sport variant, producing 115 kW (156 PS) and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic transmission, now with paddle shifters, driving the front wheels. 0-100km/h takes 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.
The chassis uses a single-joint MacPherson strut front suspension and three-link rear axle, with Adaptive M Suspension as a key differentiator for the M Sport variant, aimed at balancing sporty handling with everyday comfort.
The model is covered under BMW's Relax. We Care. programme, including BMW Proactive Care sensor-based monitoring and alerts via the My BMW App or iDrive.
The BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme provides a 4-year unlimited-mileage warranty and 4 years/80,000km of service coverage, alongside 24/7 BMW Roadside Assistance.
