Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, has expanded the Next-Generation Ford Ranger range with the introduction of three new variants – the Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL.

The launch comes as Ford celebrates another milestone in Malaysia, with over 24,000 units of the Range now on local roads since the model's introduction in 2022.

Ranger Platinum

Sitting at the top of the range is the new Ranger Platinum, powered by Ford's 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine producing 250 PS and 600 Nm, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The new 2026 Ford Ranger Platinum is priced from RM 205,888.

Ranger Sport

The Ranger Sport slots below the Platinum and is available with either a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel or 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine.

It features a sportier exterior with black styling accents, 18-inch alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster and two-tone interior. The V6 variant comes with full-time four-wheel drive, while the 2.0-litre model utilises a part-time 4WD system.

The 2026 Ford Ranger Sport 3.0L is priced from RM 159,888, while the Sport 2.0L is priced from RM 145,888.

Ranger XL

Designed primarily for commercial users, businesses and fleet operators, the Ranger XL serves as the entry point into the Ranger line-up. The bi-turbo option has been dropped, and the model is now gets a single-turbo option. Power output is rated at 170 PS and 405 Nm - same as before.

Despite its work-focused positioning, the Ranger XL comes equipped with six airbags, practical cargo space and a suite of driver assistance and connectivity features aimed at making daily operations easier.

This entry-level variant is priced from RM 127,888.

New East Malaysia parts hub

Alongside the expanded Ranger line-up, SDAC also announced the opening of a new Ford Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Scheduled to begin phased operations on 27 July, the facility will stock around 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, helping to shorten parts delivery times for authorised dealerships across East Malaysia. Selected parts within the Kota Kinabalu area will even be available for same-day delivery.

The expanded Ford Ranger range is now available for booking at authorised Ford dealerships nationwide. SDAC says customers who purchase the Ranger XL or Ranger Sport 2.0L before 31 August 2026 will receive a complimentary Ford HD1080p dashcam, while buyers of the Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum will receive a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan (ESP).
