Official interior images of BYD's new flagship SUV, the Sealion 08, have surfaced online, revealing a heavily upgraded cabin based on the brand's latest "Ocean Aesthetics 2.0" design language.
For Malaysians who prioritise practical room and premium build quality, this wide-body flagship could become a highly competitive choice if BYD ever decides to bring it over.

Inside, the Sealion 08 uses a light beige color scheme to give the cabin an open, welcoming feel. The interior is heavily wrapped in soft-touch premium leather, with unique mother-of-pearl textured trim panels running along the doors and dashboard.
This is paired with a wrap-around, dimmable ambient lighting strip and distinct oval-shaped chrome air vents, maintaining the fluid design of BYD's Ocean series while adding better visual depth.
The dashboard follows a minimalist setup but keeps a few physical buttons for high-frequency functions, making it easier for drivers to operate by touch alone.
A floating infotainment display and fully digital instrument cluster define the dashboard, complemented by a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The clean, minimalist layout gives the cabin an open and modern feel.

The Sealion 08 boasts imposing dimensions with a wheelbase spanning over 3 metres (approx. 3,030 mm), and features a highly sought-after 2+2+2 six-seater layout that is perfect for larger families.

The second row comes with two individual luxury captain seats with armrests, power adjustment, and leg rests. The seats also feature perforated leather upholstery for superior support and ventilation.
Access to the third row is made easier by the wide centre aisle between the second-row seats, allowing passengers to step through without having to fold or slide the seats forward.

Rear-seat occupants are also treated to a roof-mounted entertainment screen.

As demand for larger family SUVs continues to grow in Malaysia, the Sealion 08 could fit well into the market if it is introduced locally.
With its five-metre-plus body, 2+2+2 six-seat layout and premium cabin, the Sealion 08 is aimed at buyers who need generous space without compromising on comfort. The SUV is also expected to feature BYD's flash-charging technology and chassis innovations, further strengthening its appeal.
