Volvo XC90 gets RM 70,000 rebate as 48-hour Merdeka sale returns on 15-16 August

Volvo Car Malaysia will stage a 48-hour Merdeka sales event on 15 and 16 August 2026, with the XC90 MY25 receiving the biggest incentive in the line-up at up to RM 70,000 in cash rebates.

The weekend-only campaign is aimed at buyers looking at Volvo’s premium electrified range, and the company said stocks for the XC90 offer are strictly limited.

Customers who test-drive any Volvo model during the event will receive a complimentary artisanal coffee experience. Those who place a booking on the spot will also be entered into a lucky draw for Volvo merchandise.

Volvo Car Malaysia said buyers who take delivery of their new car will receive mystery prizes as part of the Merdeka campaign, adding a further incentive beyond the upfront price cut.

For Klang Valley customers, the main on-ground activation will be held at Carfe in Petaling Jaya from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both days. Buyers outside the Klang Valley can access the same campaign at authorised Volvo showrooms nationwide.

The wider rebate list includes the Volvo EX30 Ultra with a RM 30,888 rebate. The compact electric SUV is positioned as the brand’s smallest battery-electric model, with Safe Space Technology among its main selling points.

The Volvo EC40 Single is also part of the weekend promotion, with a RM 30,888 rebate. Volvo describes it as a fastback-style electric crossover focused on zero-emission driving.

The XC60 MY26 gets a RM 29,200 rebate together with VSP Plus 5, which Volvo says is worth RM 15,800. As one of Volvo Cars’ best-selling nameplates globally, the mid-size SUV continues to be one of the brand’s core hybrid offerings in Malaysia.

At the top end of the deal sheet, the ES90 carries a RM 20,000 rebate plus an additional weekend-only RM 7,000 reduction, along with a free Volvo Wallbox valued at RM 3,990. The electric sedan is Volvo Car Malaysia’s latest flagship model in the sedan line-up.

Volvo said the Merdeka campaign is available through participating authorised dealers in Penang, Perak, Melaka, Johor and Sabah, in addition to the Klang Valley event. The dealer list includes Federal Auto Cars and Western Circle in Penang, iRoll Auto in Ipoh, Seong Hoe Motors in Melaka, Pekin Auto in Skudai and Sebangga Mitsinbo in Kota Kinabalu.
