2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line price confirmed: RM 237,490 for 265 PS SUV

Following the launch of the 2026 Volkswagen Tayron Elegance a couple of months ago, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has confirmed the price of the Tayron R-Line.

For the Malaysian market, the 2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line is priced at RM 237,490.

Add the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP) that adds 5 years free maintenance, 5 years manufacturer’s warranty, and 5 years roadside assistance, the price of the Tayron R-Line increases to RM 250,074.

Power for the Tayron R-Line comes from a turbocharged 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 265 PS and 400 Nm, paired to Volkswagen’s famed seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG). Power is deployed to all four wheels via the 4MOTION all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

The Tayron is positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg in VPCM's line-up and is locally assembled (CKD) at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, alongside the more comfort-oriented Elegance variant, which uses a 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid engine.

What does the Tayron R-Line offer?

The R-Line gets IQ.Light HD Matrix headlights with glare-free high beam, an illuminated Volkswagen emblem at the front and rear, exclusive R-Line bumpers and side skirts, and 3D LED taillights with dynamic turn signals.

Inside, Varenna leather ergoActive Plus front seats offer 12-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and a 10-air-cushion massage function. Audio is handled by a Harman Kardon system with 10+1 speakers, a subwoofer, 700-watt output and a 16-channel amplifier.

The seven-seat cabin has 40:20:40 split-folding second-row seats, 50:50 split-folding third-row seats, up to 1,905 litres of cargo space with both rows folded, and a hands-free Easy Open & Close tailgate.

The R-Line comes with a 15-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment system running MIB4 software, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, a head-up display, the IDA voice assistant, and a Centre Console Multi-Function Control rotary controller.

Standard driver assistance systems include Travel Assist with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Lane Change System Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert with Exit Warning, Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Park Assist Plus, Emergency Assist, Proactive Passenger Protection System and Driver Attention Monitor, alongside nine airbags including a front-centre airbag.

As part of an early Merdeka promotion, the first 69 Tayron buyers receive 7 years of free maintenance, complimentary accident and car key coverage, and a chance to win a 3D/2N holiday package.

The R-Line will be available for viewing at Volkswagen dealerships nationwide from 13-August 2026, with a dedicated event running 14 to 16-August. Both the Tayron Elegance and R-Line are also on display at the Volkswagen Tour at 1 Utama Shopping Centre until 31-August 2026.
