Spied! Goodbye vertical tail lights, could this be the next-gen Honda CR-V?

It seems like Honda is currently cooking up the seventh-generation Honda CR-V, as spyshots of the purported seventh-gen model have popped up on social media platforms.

According to the original poster, these shots were taken nearby a Honda plant, likely near the Ontario, Canada plant as hinted by the license plate. Said plant was the same plant that was in charge of prototype design and production process for the sixth-generation Honda CR-V, and it appears that the same could be applied for the new gen model.

Now, sharp eyed readers may have noticed an oddity – this particular mule lacks the CR-V’s signature vertical tail lights. Vertical tail lights have been a hallmark Honda CR-V feature, ever since the model debuted way back in 1995. But with this new model, it appears that the it could receive a set of full-width LED tail lights instead.

The front’s pretty fresh too, as it appears that the seventh-gen Honda CR-V could adopt styling cues seen on the 2026 Honda City facelift, including a clamshell-like bonnet with slim LED daytime running lights nestled below.

In terms of powertrain, we believe that the Honda e:HEV petrol-electric hybrid system would be expanded to even more variants; the current RS-generation CR-V that’s sold in Malaysia comprises of two hybrid and one turbo variant.

Hang tight for more updates, including regional spyshots. Recall that spyshots of the sixth-generation Honda CR-V first emerged in Europe in March 2021, followed by Thailand in May 2022. The model made its regional debut in Thailand in May 2023.
