Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific (HMAP) has appointed Yukontorn Wisadkosin (Vickie) as ASEAN President, effective March 2, 2026, reporting directly to HMAP President Don Romano.

Vickie will oversee Hyundai’s ASEAN operations (including Malaysia) and lead regional strategy alignment, with a focus on growing key markets like Malaysia. She will also drive operational integration and long-term sustainable growth in the region.
With over 20 years of senior automotive leadership experience in ASEAN, Vickie previously served as Ford’s ASEAN Markets President, leading regional expansion and growth—including in Malaysia.

Romano noted that Vickie’s appointment reflects Hyundai’s confidence in her ability to lead its ASEAN growth, citing her expertise in navigating the region’s market dynamics. Vickie expressed excitement to collaborate with ASEAN teams, including Malaysia, to deliver long-term value.
For Malaysians, this signals Hyundai’s commitment to the local market. The brand has a strong presence here, offering popular models (Sonata, Tucson, Ioniq EV) and a nationwide dealership network, with recent focus on expanding its EV lineup to align with Malaysia’s sustainable mobility goals.

The appointment is part of HMAP’s efforts to build a more integrated ASEAN organization, strengthening Hyundai’s competitiveness and growth in the region—including Malaysia. HMAP drives Hyundai’s mobility and EV ecosystem development in Southeast Asia.
