Proton has released its official sales figures for April 2026. Powered by a well-balanced portfolio of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Electric Vehicle (EV), and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models, the national automaker delivered a total of 18,156 vehicles last month.

This represents a solid 15.6% increase (or +2,450 units) compared to March's 15,706 units. Year-to-date (YTD) sales now stand at 67,298 units, marking a strong 40.9% growth compared to the same period in 2025. With this momentum, Proton remains firmly on track to achieve its full-year target of 200,000 units.
Proton's estimated market share stood at 25% in April, with its YTD market share reaching 26.4%.

Traditional ICE models continue to drive the bulk of Proton's volume:

Proton's electrified models under the e.MAS sub-brand showed impressive results. Combined EV and PHEV sales reached 3,420 units in April, pushing the YTD electrified total to 11,664 units.

Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa, CEO of Proton Edar, said, "Overall, we are on the right path to achieve our targets for 2026. With more launches and new initiatives in the pipeline for this year and the next few years beyond, Proton hopes to be able to position itself as the best choice for Malaysian car buyers as well as the country's leading export OEM."
