2026 Chengdu Motor Show: BYD Great Han opens pre-orders from RM 152k

At the ongoing 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, BYD has taken the wraps off its new flagship sedan, the BYD Great Han, with pre-orders opening at the same time.

The new model is available in three variants, with prices ranging from RMB 249,900 to RMB 299,900 (around RM 152,000 to RM 183,000).

As the flagship sedan in the Dynasty series, this premium model offers both battery electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain options. The EV version has a claimed CLTC range of up to 1,008 km.

Exterior

The Great Han continues with the brand's Dragon Face design language, with a low-slung front end that gives the sedan a sporty look while retaining the presence of a flagship model.

A LiDAR sensor can also be seen on the roof, hinting at BYD's latest driver-assistance technology.

A large luxury sedan

The Great Han has a long, low-slung profile, with 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels completing the side view.

At the rear, the wider body gives the sedan a more planted look.

It measures 5,256mm long, 1,999mm wide and 1,510mm tall, with a 3,130mm wheelbase.

Powertrain

The Great Han comes in both EV and PHEV versions, with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology.

The pure-electric version has a claimed CLTC range of up to 1,008 km.

Both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions are available. The AWD model accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270km/h.

For a sedan of this size, those numbers are seriously impressive.

Come to Malaysia?

The Great Han is not confirmed for Malaysia yet, but it would be an interesting addition to BYD's local lineup, especially with its large-sedan proportions, 1,008km claimed EV range and 3.8-second 0-100km/h time.

With BYD already well established here through models such as the Atto 3, Dolphin and Seal, it would be interesting to see whether the Great Han comes to Malaysia too.
