2026 Chengdu Motor Show: Meet the iCAUR V25, the V23's range-extender sibling

The 2026 Chengdu Motor Show has yet to open, but our team was already at the venue to get a first look at the new iCAUR V25.

A the third model in iCAUR's V-series, the V25 follows the same boxy styling as the V23. It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged range-extender system.

Exterior

The V25 sticks to the V-series formula, with a boxy body, upright A-pillars and wide wheel arches.

Five colours will be available: pearl white, black, silver, green and matte grey. The white car gets an eight-layer pearl paint finish.

The V25 measures 4,636mm long, 1,920mm wide and 1,855mm tall, with a 2,820mm wheelbase. It is sized to offer a spacious five-seat cabin while remaining practical for everyday driving and parking in Malaysia.

Ground clearance is rated at 197mm, with a 30-degree approach angle and 28-degree departure angle.

One of the more distinctive details is the high-integration tech island on the front fender, which combines the driver-assistance cameras, NFC sensor and turn signal.

The D-pillar blind-window trim can also be removed, allowing owners to fit accessories such as a ladder or side storage box.

The V25 comes with 21-inch wheels and 265mm tyres, with the wheel design reducing aerodynamic drag by 7.5%.

Driver assistance

The V25 is also well equipped when it comes to driver assistance. It gets the Super Falcon 700+ system, powered by a Horizon Journey 6P chip with up to 560 TOPS of computing power.

Rear design

The rear has a few interesting touches, starting with the nine-block brake light design that takes inspiration from Lego bricks.

Above the tail lights, there is also a space for a custom display box, which owners can use to add their own light-up accessory.

The side-hinged tailgate opens to 88 degrees, with hinges that can be stopped at any position. A 22.7-litre storage box is built into the tailgate as well, giving owners a place to keep items such as umbrellas or tools.

The V25 also comes with dual fog lights and dual reversing lights, with the lighting setup designed to meet global standards.

Powertrain

The iCAUR V25 uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged range-extender system, with the engine producing 115kW.

It is paired with a 33.67kWh LFP battery, with WLTC electric range rated at 145km or 150km, depending on the version. Fuel consumption with the battery depleted is around 6.9-7.15 litres/100km.

The V25 is also expected to use dual electric motors with all-wheel drive.

iCAUR in Malaysia

The iCAUR V23 has already been launched in Malaysia, joining the iCAUR 03 in the local line-up.

Current prices are:

  • iCAUR 03: RM 129,880
  • iCAUR V23: RM 132,780

If the V25 eventually makes its way to Malaysia, its range-extender setup could make it an interesting option for buyers who want the V-series' rugged design without having to rely solely on charging for longer trips.
