2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric gets massage seats with 4D audio, 105 exterior colours and power doors

Porsche has unveiled the 2027 Cayenne Electric, with the latest model-year update bringing power doors, upgraded massage seats and a wider choice of exterior colours.

The updated electric SUV is due to reach customers in global markets from the first quarter of 2027. The changes also extend to the Cayenne Coupé Electric.

Power doors are now optional

For the first time, the Cayenne Electric can be fitted with optional power doors. A gentle pull on the door handle is enough to activate the servo motor, which then opens or closes the door.

The doors can be controlled from the cabin, the handles themselves, the Flow Display on the PCM screen, or remotely through the Porsche Digital Key. The driver's door will close automatically when the seat belt is fastened or the brake pedal is pressed.

Sensors around the car monitor the area around the doors. If an obstacle, pedestrian or approaching vehicle is detected, the door stops moving. The system is linked to the exit warning function, although the doors can still be operated manually.

Massage seats with 4D Audio

Porsche has also upgraded the front massage seats and added the 4D Audio, which transforms sound into deep, tactile vibrations for a concert-like, full-body immersion.

Each front seat has 16 air chambers and six sound actuators in the backrest and seat cushion, along with six sound actuators that add vibration to the audio.

There are five massage programmes, with several intensity levels and vibration settings.

Three new Wellness mood modes combine massage, vibration and dedicated soundscapes, giving the system a different setting for longer drives or time spent in traffic.

105 exterior colours

Porsche is also giving Cayenne Electric buyers far more choice of paint colours.

The Paint to Sample (PTS) programme adds 92 colours to the existing 13 colours of Contrasts, Shades, Dreams and Legends series, taking the total number of exterior colours to 105.

More interior options

Porsche has introduced the Extended Package Interior Style for the 2027 model year, featuring Delgada Green piping and stitching to selected leather surfaces.

Customers can also specify leather or Race-Tex upholstery for the front and rear seats and centre console, along with Race-Tex door sill trims with contrasting stitching.

The Director's Cut interior package, created by the Style Porsche design studio and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, remains on the options list. It uses a black-and-green two-tone theme throughout the cabin.

Powertrain and performance

The new Cayenne Electric continues to use a dual-motor powertrain. The Base and S models retain their existing performance, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric produces 630 kW.

With Launch Control engaged, peak output rises to 850 kW, allowing the Turbo Electric to go from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

US pricing

The US MSRP for the 2027 Cayenne Electric range is:

• Cayenne Electric Coupé: $113,800 (approx. RM 464,300)
• Cayenne S Electric SUV: $126,300 (approx. RM 515,300) 
• Cayenne S Electric Coupé: $131,200 (approx. RM 535,300) 
• Cayenne Turbo Electric SUV: $163,000 (approx. RM 665,000)
• Cayenne Turbo Electric Coupé: $168,000 (approx. RM 685,400)

Porsche has yet to announce Malaysian pricing or confirm when the updated Cayenne Electric will arrive locally.
