Exterior

The Great Han EV carries BYD's signature Dragon Face design, with a low-slung front end that gives the large sedan a sporty yet restrained appearance.

A raised LiDAR sensor is mounted on the roof, indicating the presence of BYD's advanced DiPilot 300 driver assistance system.

The long, flowing side profile gives the car an elegant look, while multi-spoke 21-inch alloy wheels add to its road presence.

At the rear, a broad design and full proportions give the sedan a substantial stance.

The Great Han EV measures 5,256 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,510 mm tall, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. These dimensions put it firmly in the large luxury sedan class.

Interior

Inside, the Great Han EV features BYD's familiar cabin layout, with extensive wood trim and diamond-quilted leather seats to give the interior a more upmarket feel.

The driver's area includes a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a digital instrument display and a large floating central touchscreen.

Other equipment includes a wireless phone charging pad and, for the first time in the model line-up, a high-end Devialet sound system with 31 speakers.

Powertrain and range

The Great Han line-up will include both battery-electric (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions, although the first models to go on sale are fully electric.

The single-motor rear-wheel-drive version produces 370 kW (around 503 PS). The dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant combines a 200 kW front motor with a 370 kW rear motor, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

The car has a drag coefficient of 0.197 Cd and a 102.326 kWh battery pack. Depending on the variant, its claimed CLTC range is 820 km, 850 km, 880 km, 970 km or up to 1,008 km.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged DM plug-in hybrid version is also planned. It will pair a 115 kW engine with a 54.489 kWh battery, offering a claimed electric-only range of 370 km under the WLTC test cycle.

The Great Han also features BYD's DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension system, designed to balance ride comfort and handling.
