iCAUR 03 RWD starts CKD production in Malaysia, first deliveries begin in October

iCAUR Malaysia has started local CKD assembly of the iCAUR 03 RWD at the Chery Corporate Malaysia plant in Shah Alam. The first locally assembled cars are expected to be delivered to customers from October 2026.

The iWD all-wheel-drive (AWD) version started local assembly in May this year. With the RWD now joining it, both iCAUR 03 variants are assembled locally in Malaysia.

The switch from CBU to CKD has made very little difference to the price.

The iCAUR 03 RWD is priced at RM 119,740 on the road in Peninsular Malaysia, excluding insurance. That is just RM 160 less than the previous CBU version. The difference comes from the removal of the mandatory inspection fee for the CBU model.

There are no changes to the specification either. The RWD version continues with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 184 PS and 220 Nm, with a 0–100 km/h time of 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.

The 65.7 kWh LFP battery is also carried over, giving the iCAUR 03 RWD a claimed NEDC range of 426 km, or around 360 km under WLTP.

DC fast charging is rated at up to 80 kW, with a claimed 30–80% charging time of around 30 minutes. AC charging supports up to 6.6 kW, while 3.2 kW V2L is retained for powering external devices.

The warranty package for iCAUR 03 models registered in 2026 has also been revised.

Owners get a 7-year/150,000km vehicle warranty, while the high-voltage battery, drive unit and other high-voltage components are covered for 10 years or 200,000 km.

If battery health falls below 60% during the warranty period, iCAUR will provide a one-to-one battery replacement.

The iCAUR 03 RWD has an annual road tax of RM 140.

The iCAUR 03 keeps its Boxy Retro Classic design, including the side-hinged tailgate and the external storage backpack at the rear.

A Phantom Edition package is available for an additional RM 20,000. Limited to 100 sets, it adds a matte-black exterior finish, wide-body kit, roof luggage platform and side ladder.

CKD production of the iCAUR 03 RWD began in September, although the first batch will be limited.

The first locally assembled cars are expected to reach authorised iCAUR showrooms nationwide from October, with customer deliveries to follow.
