Kia Malaysia teases 2027 Kia Sportage facelift, to get turbo HEV powertrain

Kia Malaysia has recently dropped teasers of the upcoming 2027 Kia Sportage facelift on its social media platforms, indicating that the upcoming C-segment SUV is just around the corner.

This is evident by its signature LED daytime running lights that stretches vertically on the edges of the front fascia; different from the current Sportage with its LED DRL that has a boomerang shape.

In addition to that, Kia Malaysia has also confirmed that the upcoming Sportage facelift will arrive with a turbo-hybrid powertrain. This should mirror the same powertrain found in the facelifted Hyundai Tucson, featuring a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor housed within the housing of the 6-speed automatic transmission, good for 235 PS and 367 Nm.

Apart from the powertrain, we can also predict that the upcoming 2027 Kia Sportage facelift will arrive here in its long wheelbase form, offering 2,755 mm and matching the Tucson and the outgoing model.

Like its stablemate Kia Carnival, the 2027 Kia Sportage facelift is expected to be locally-assembled at the Stellantis plant in Gurun.
