Kia opens new Kuching 3S centre, expands East Malaysia network to support ICE and EV customers

Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has expanded its presence in East Malaysia with the opening of a new Kia Kuching Heng Lian Enterprise 3S dealership in Kuching, Sarawak.

The new outlet is intended to improve access to Kia sales and aftersales services in Sarawak, while supporting the brand's plans to expand its nationwide retail and service network.

Located along Jalan Abell in Kuching's financial and business district, the new 3S centre is operated by Heng Lian Enterprise Berhad, which has more than four decades of experience in the automotive industry.

Kia Sales Malaysia President and CEO Hyung Ho Kim said the new facility will bring the brand closer to customers in East Malaysia while maintaining Kia's global standards for sales and customer care.

The dealership occupies 4,796 sq ft and features a showroom with space for up to three vehicles. Its service centre has two work bays and is capable of handling up to 260 vehicles per month.

The facility is equipped with Kia's latest diagnostic equipment, alongside customer amenities including a lounge, complimentary Wi-Fi and a pantry serving beverages and light snacks.

Heng Lian Enterprise Berhad Managing Director Kevin Law said the company invested RM 1.5 million in the new facility, with the investment aimed at supporting Kia's expansion in East Malaysia.

Established in 1984, Heng Lian Enterprise operates across several automotive-related businesses, including new passenger vehicles, new and used motorcycles, used commercial vehicles and hire-purchase financing.

Kia now has 26 dealerships nationwide

The Kuching outlet forms part of KSM's wider strategy to strengthen its dealership network across Malaysia, with facilities designed to support customers of both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electrified vehicles.

Following the opening, Kia Sales Malaysia now operates 26 dealerships nationwide.

The new Kia Kuching Heng Lian Enterprise 3S Centre is located at Lot 106 & 107, Jalan Abell, 93100 Kuching, Sarawak.

The showroom operates daily from 8:30am to 5:30pm, while opening hours on public holidays are from 10am to 3pm. The service centre operates from 8:30am to 5:30pm on weekdays and Saturdays, excluding public holidays.

Kia records strongest first-half sales globally

The expansion in Malaysia comes as Kia reports its strongest-ever first-half global sales performance.

The Korean automaker sold 1,630,988 vehicles worldwide between January and June 2026, surpassing its previous first-half record of 1,587,536 units set in 2025.

Kia also recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales during Q2 2026, delivering 851,639 vehicles, up 4.5% year-on-year (YoY).

Electrified vehicle sales were another key contributor, with Kia's global retail sales of EVs and hybrids increasing 60% year-on-year (YoY) to 296,000 units during the first half of the year. This gave electrified vehicles a record 4% share of Kia's global sales.

Kia expects demand for EVs and hybrids to remain a key driver of its global sales performance during the second half of 2026.
