Leapmotor’s product portfolio in Malaysia could be welcoming a new member soon, as the Leapmotor B03X is currently being previewed at the ongoing paultan.org Auto Car Expo (2026 ACE).
If and when the model arrives here, the Leapmotor B03X would be the company’s smallest and most affordable model in Malaysia.
As the name suggests, the Leapmotor B03X is a B-segment SUV, measuring 4,270 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,605 mm wheelbase.
Unlike the rear-wheel-drive B10 and C10, the B03X gets a front-mounted electric motor. The motor is said to produce 145 kW (197 PS) and 200 Nm, powered by a choice of two Gotion-sourced batteries:
Regardless of variant, Leapmotor says the B03X completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h.
In terms of charging, variants with the smaller 39.8 kWh battery pack can recharge from 30% to 80% state of charge (SoC) in 30 minutes, while those with the larger battery pack complete the same charge in just 16 minutes.
For the Leapmotor B03X to be competitive in Malaysia, Stellantis would have to locally assemble (CKD) the model, as importing it as a completely built-up (CBU) vehicle isn’t feasible under MITI’s current rules for EVs.
At the time of writing, the Leapmotor B03X is on display at 2026 ACE at the Setia City Convention Centre. The event runs from 31 October to 1 November.
Do check it out if you’re shopping for a B-segment EV SUV. A 1H 2027 launch is possible.
