Perodua QV-E Malaysia Day Promo: RM 10k cash rebate with prices from RM 53,499 BaaS and RM 77,499 outright

To mark Malaysia Day on 16 September, Perodua has announced a limited-time offer for the QV-E, its first fully electric vehicle, with an additional RM 10,000 cash rebate across the range.

Perodua says the number of vehicles available under the promotion is limited, although it has not specified an end date. Buyers interested in the QV-E will need to check with Perodua for the latest availability.

New QV-E prices

Customers who choose to buy the car and battery outright can now get the QV-E from RM 77,499, down from RM 87,499. The price excludes insurance and road tax.

Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, the QV-E is priced from RM 53,499, with a fixed battery rental fee of RM 215 per month, including tax, over a nine-year period.

There is one important point for early QV-E owners. Those who bought their cars under the previous battery-rental scheme cannot simply switch to the new outright-purchase package.

To own the battery outright, they would have to sell their existing QV-E and purchase another one under the new plan.

Perodua has, however, already reduced the monthly rental fee for existing owners from RM 275 to RM 215, while also offering a special refund to protect the interests of those who bought their cars earlier.

Powertrain

The QV-E uses a front-mounted electric motor producing 204 PS (150 kW) and 285 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with a top speed of 165 km/h.

Dimensions

The QV-E measures 4,170 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,502 mm tall, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase. It is larger than the third-generation Perodua Myvi.

Despite its crossover styling, the QV-E has just 158 mm of ground clearance, slightly lower than the Myvi's 160 mm. In terms of layout and proportions, it is therefore closer to a sporty five-door hatchback with crossover styling than a conventional SUV.

Battery and range 

The QV-E uses a 52.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by CATL in China. Its claimed range reaches 445 km under the NEDC cycle, while the WLTP range is around 370–380 km.

Charging

The QV-E supports 6.6 kW AC charging and 60 kW DC fast charging. Perodua claims the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes using DC charging. With a 7 kW home AC charger, a full charge from empty takes around 8 hours.

Battery ownership and recycling

For customers who choose to buy the battery outright, Perodua also offers a battery buyback programme. This is intended to provide an option for owners when the vehicle reaches the end of its life or when the battery needs to be recycled.
