BYD Sealion 7 combines dual-motor performance with family-ready practicality

Measuring 4,830 mm long and 1,925 mm wide, the body has substantial SUV proportions. Its 1,620 mm height and long 2,930 mm wheelbase create a stretched, planted profile that gives the five-seat model a strong road presence.

The cabin brings together genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats and extensive powered adjustment, including driver memory, lumbar support and a leg rest. A 15.6-inch central display, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and head-up display keep key functions within easy view. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless phone charging and a 12-speaker Dynaudio system add useful everyday connectivity, while dual-zone automatic air-conditioning and rear vents suit Malaysia’s warm climate.

The front and rear motors produce a combined 390 kW and 690 Nm, with electronic 4WD distributing drive across both axles. The rated 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds gives this Performance variant a clear straight-line focus. Double-control-arm front suspension and a multi-link independent rear setup provide a suitably sophisticated chassis foundation for managing that output.

The 2,930 mm wheelbase gives the five-seat cabin a generous dimensional foundation, while the 1,925 mm body width supports a broad passenger compartment. A 520-litre boot handles the main luggage duties, making the vehicle practical for family trips and regular shopping runs.

Safety equipment extends from front, side, curtain and centre airbags to electronic stability control and tyre-pressure monitoring. The driver-assistance suite covers blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keeping and lane centring, along with forward and rear collision warnings. Autonomous emergency braking, forward cross-traffic braking and a 360-degree camera provide additional support in busy traffic and tight parking areas.

The 91.39 kWh LFP battery carries a 600 km NEDC range rating, giving owners a sizeable official driving allowance between charges. Charging support includes up to 230 kW DC for compatible public chargers and 11 kW AC for regular home or destination charging, covering both long-distance stops and daily charging routines.
