Model Overview

The AVATR 07 is a mid-size SUV from AVATR, a premium intelligent electric vehicle brand jointly developed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, officially launched in September 2024. As an annual facelift, the 2026 model was officially introduced on 20 September 2025 across six variants, comprising three range-extender (EREV) and three fully electric (EV) variants. The official retail price for the range-extender version ranges from RM219,900 to RM269,900, while the all-electric version is priced between RM229,900 and RM279,900, with limited-time promotional pricing starting from RM209,900 to RM269,900. In terms of dimensions, the 2026 model measures 4825×1980×1620 (1605) mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2940mm. Riding on a product strategy of "fully equipped right from the base variant", the AVATR 07 is positioned in the RM200,000-RM300,000 intelligent mid-size SUV segment, rivaling competitors such as the Li Auto L6, ZEEKR 7X, and Luxeed R7.
Design Language
The 2026 AVATR 07 carries forward the AVATR family's signature "Future Elegance" design philosophy. The front fascia adopts a disc-wing design, complemented by dual-tier LED daytime running lights forming a distinctive C-shaped light signature; the lower HALO interactive display consists of 10,500 LED light units, capable of displaying dynamic animations such as welcome graphics and charging status. The 2026 model introduces a new Sunny Blue exterior colour and a Rock Brown interior theme. The side profile features flush pop-out door handles and ultra-clear digital side mirrors, the latter reducing the drag coefficient by 0.009 Cd. At the rear, star-track streaming taillights are fitted, while new driver-assist small blue indicator lamps are added to both sides of the rear bumper, illuminating automatically when intelligent driving modes are engaged. The vehicle achieves an overall drag coefficient of just Cd 0.259.
Powertrain & Performance
The 2026 AVATR 07 is offered in two powertrain options: range-extender (EREV) and all-electric (EV).
The range-extender version is equipped with a 1.5T range extender (peak power of 115kW, 44.39% thermal efficiency) paired with a rear single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout across all variants. The electric motor delivers a maximum output of 231kW (314 hp) and a peak torque of 333 N·m. The Elite and Max+ EREV variants pack a 39.05kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 245km; the Ultra EREV variant gets a larger 52.01kWh pack, yielding a CLTC pure electric range of 333km and a total combined range of 1200km. The 0-100 km/h sprint is completed in 6.6 seconds.
The all-electric version is built on a full-domain 800V Silicon Carbide (SiC) platform. The single-motor RWD variant produces a maximum output of 252kW (343 hp) and 365 N·m of peak torque; the dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant delivers a combined output of 440kW (598 hp) and a peak torque of 645 N·m. All EV variants are fitted with an 82.16kWh CATL battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 650km for the RWD and 610km for the AWD. The 0-100 km/h acceleration takes as brisk as 3.9 seconds. In terms of charging, the 52kWh battery on the EREV supports 5C ultra-fast charging, replenishing from 30% to 80% in just 10 minutes; the pure EV supports 4.5C DC fast charging, similarly completing a 30%-80% charge in 10 minutes.
Chassis & Handling
The chassis features a high-spec setup comprising front double-wishbone independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, with suspension components fabricated from silicon-magnesium-aluminium alloy to effectively reduce unsprung weight. The 2026 model receives a comprehensive upgrade to its Taihang intelligent control chassis. The Max+ and Ultra variants come standard with intelligent air suspension, CDC dynamic damping shock absorbers, and Magic Carpet suspension, supporting a one-touch vehicle body levelling feature. The Magic Carpet suspension proactively reads road surface conditions and automatically adjusts damping firmness, reducing body shake over speed bumps by 75%. It achieves a moose test speed of 82km/h and a 100-0 km/h braking distance of 34.5m. The steering is sharp with minimal deadband. The pure EV Ultra variant also features an intelligent assisted U-turn function.
Cabin & Equipment
The cabin features a four-screen layout: a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic remote display (instrument panel) + a 15.6-inch 2K floating centre infotainment touchscreen, with optional dual 6.7-inch digital side mirror interior display screens. The infotainment system is powered by Huawei HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, supporting voiceprint recognition, Super Desktop, and other functions, with the system booting up in just 2 seconds. Over 81% of the interior is wrapped in soft-touch materials certified to infant-grade health standards. In terms of comfort, all variants come standard with dual front zero-gravity seats (16-way power adjustment + heating/ventilation/massage); the rear seats feature power recline adjustment (up to 34°) alongside heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The in-car audio is provided by a 25-speaker Meridian sound system, supporting 7.1.4-channel audio rendering with a peak power of 2,016W. All variants come standard with soft-close doors and a streaming digital rearview mirror, with an optional 4L smart heating and cooling refrigerator. Boot capacity stands at 500L, expandable to 1,325L; the all-electric variant adds a 90L front boot (frunk).
Safety & Intelligent Driving
Intelligent driving is the hallmark feature of the AVATR 07. The 2026 model comes standard with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 4 driver assistance system across all variants. Hardware-wise, it is equipped with a 192-line LiDAR, three 4D millimetre-wave radars, and 27 sensor units. The system supports Parking Space-to-Parking Space 2.0 full-scenario navigation assist, offering end-to-end intelligent navigation from highways and urban roads straight to parking spots. In terms of active safety, it features the Huawei CAS 4.0 all-directional collision prevention system, with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) capable of bringing the vehicle to a complete stop from speeds up to 130km/h, while emergency steering assist (eAES) operates at speeds up to 135km/h. On passive safety, all variants are fitted with 9 airbags as standard (including a front-centre far-side airbag and integrated front-to-rear curtain airbags); the vehicle body utilises a "six-horizontal and nine-vertical" high-rigidity structure, earning a C-NCAP five-star safety rating.
Market Performance & Evaluation
The AVATR 07 delivered strong sales momentum upon its debut, with monthly sales once approaching nearly 10,000 units and cumulative deliveries hitting 70,000 units within a year of launch. However, sales tapered off entering 2026, recording around 1,606 units in January and 1,100 units in February, with overall AVATR brand sales reaching 5,279 units in April 2026. The 2026 model aims to reinforce its competitive edge in the fiercely contested RM200,000-RM300,000 intelligent SUV segment via its "fully loaded from base trim" strategy, standardising flagship equipment such as Huawei Qiankun ADS 4, HarmonyOS Cockpit 5, dual zero-gravity seats, and the Meridian sound system across all variants. Within its class, the key strength of the AVATR 07 stems from the joint technological synergy of Changan, Huawei, and CATL, delivering Huawei's full-stack intelligent driving and cockpit capabilities, an 800V ultra-fast charging platform, high-spec double-wishbone and multi-link suspension, and class-above luxury appointments. As a cornerstone model in the rollout of AVATR's Strategy 2.0, the refreshed 2026 AVATR 07 establishes a distinct, competitive foothold in the RM200,000-RM300,000 intelligent mid-size SUV market with its all-round product upgrades.
