Company Profile

Luxeed (Chinese: 智界; pinyin: Zhìjiè) is a premium Chinese electric vehicle marque established in 2023.

Operating as a high-tech smart vehicle brand, it is born from a strategic engineering partnership between Chery Automobile and technology giant Huawei. The brand functions under Huawei’s unified Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), positioning its fleet to target tech-focused urban families, young professionals, and luxury buyers seeking advanced autonomous driving and smart cabin technology.

Official Brand Name: Luxeed (English) / 智界 (Chinese)

Founded: August 2023

Global Headquarters & Production Site: Wuhu, Anhui Province, China (Based at Chery’s advanced Super Gigafactory manufacturing base)

Parent Alliance: HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), alongside sibling marques Aito (with Seres), Stelato (with BAIC), and Maextro (with JAC).

Core Business Structure: "Smart Selection" (智选车) Partnership. Chery Automobile serves as the primary manufacturer responsible for product development, vehicle platform architecture, and physical mass assembly, while Huawei directs the electronic software stack, smart driving networks, electric powertrains, and retail distribution through flagship Huawei stores.

Development History

1. The HIMA Expansion into Sedans (2023)

Following the early success of Huawei's HIMA ecosystem in the SUV segment, the technology giant sought to establish a dedicated brand for high-performance electric sedans and smart crossovers. In August 2023, Huawei and Chery Automobile officially announced their partnership under the brand name Luxeed. The name was conceived as a portmanteau blending "Luxury" and "Exceed" (referencing Chery’s existing high-end Exeed sub-brand).

2. Launch of the S7 and Production Bottlenecks (Late 2023 – Early 2024)

The marque's first production vehicle, the Luxeed S7 executive sedan, officially launched on November 28, 2023. Despite securing massive initial order backlogs, the brand immediately suffered a severe operational crisis. A shortage of critical components for Huawei's computing chips combined with initial factory synchronization delays at Chery's new assembly facility caused massive delivery delays. To resolve the crisis and pacify waiting customers, Chery completely reorganized its internal asset allocation, and the Luxeed S7 was successfully re-launched with upgraded features in April 2024, scaling up deliveries smoothly.

3. SUV Diversification and Fleet Expansion (2024–Present)

Having stabilized its production pipeline, Luxeed rapidly moved to diversify its portfolio. In September 2024, the brand introduced its second major product line, the Luxeed R7, a mid-to-full-sized coupe SUV designed to compete directly against luxury mainstays like the Tesla Model Y and premium domestic offerings. By 2025, to capture a broader market segment and mitigate infrastructure gaps in rural regions, Luxeed expanded its pure battery-electric (BEV) platforms to incorporate highly efficient EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) powertrain configurations.

Current Product Portfolio & Technical Vault

Luxeed vehicles are built on Chery's highly advanced E0X high-performance electric platform, which utilizes an all-aluminum chassis, air suspension systems, and cutting-edge electronic network architectures.

1. Active Vehicle Fleet

  • Luxeed S7: A sleek, aerodynamic executive mid-to-full-sized sedan featuring a low 0.203 Cd drag coefficient, a panoramic glass roof canopy, and custom executive passenger lounge configurations.
  • Luxeed R7: A sporty, fastback coupe SUV that blends high-clearance utility with an aerodynamic silhouette, offering massive rear cargo capacity via a modular hatchback tailgate design.

2. Core Technological Integration

  • Huawei ADS 3.0 (Advanced Driving System): Luxeed vehicles utilize Huawei's top-tier autonomous driving matrix, anchored by a roof-mounted 192-line LiDAR array. The system operates on an end-to-end neural network, enabling un-mapped Navigate-on-Autopilot (NOA) capabilities across urban streets, highways, and automated valet parking structures.
  • Huawei HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit: The interior replaces traditional button clusters with a fluid digital ecosystem. Driven by HarmonyOS, it offers seamless mobile device mirroring, multi-screen video routing, and an advanced AI voice assistant capable of tracking regional Chinese dialects.
  • DriveONE 800V High-Voltage Architecture: Powered by Huawei’s DriveONE electric powertrain system, the cars run on an 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform. This enables ultra-fast charging, capable of replenishing up to 400 km of range in just 15 minutes when connected to high-power liquid-cooled superchargers.
