T-REX (Bawanglong) is a professional brand in the high-end pickup customization and modification field, affiliated with Bawanglong (Tianjin) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. The brand was officially established in 2021, with its headquarters located in the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area. As the creator of the world's first standardized mass-produced heavy-duty crossing pickup "Carbon Pathfinder", the T-REX brand takes "Crossing Pickup" as its core category, committed to providing users with outdoor travel solutions that combine hardcore off-road capabilities and luxurious comfortable experiences.

Development History

On August 24, 2021, Bawanglong (Tianjin) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established, with legal representative Che Tingyu and an initial registered capital of 2 million RMB. The brand's core team consists of a group of young people who love compliant car modifications, including senior automotive engineers, forward-looking designers, and many senior modification enthusiasts. Based on the philosophy of "independence, fearlessness, foresight, and exploration spirit," the team established a corporate positioning that integrates high-end pickup design, R&D, modification, customization, and sales.

In May 2022, the T-REX brand launched its first mass-produced model—the "Carbon Pathfinder"—marking the brand’s official entry into the product market from the startup stage. Thereafter, T-REX actively integrated multi-party resources, successively establishing strategic cooperative partnerships with multiple first-line manufacturers both domestically and internationally, and expanded the product line to the T-REX "Pathfinder" series. Its products utilize automotive-grade mold production, with some key parts directly assembled online by the manufacturer, ensuring exit quality consistent with that of mass-produced cars.

Brand Matrix / Product Line

The product line under the T-REX brand revolves around "Crossing Pickup," with the currently core promoted product being the T-REX Pathfinder (PROWLER) series. The series adopts a "Mecha Beast" hardcore concept in design, featuring an exoskeleton scale-style grille and "Dragon Eye-style" LED headlight group on the front face, making the overall vehicle shape highly recognizable. The power system is equipped with a 2.5L QR25 naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power of 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 235 N·m, matched with a 7-speed automatic transmission. It can meet scenarios such as urban commuting, long-distance self-driving, deep crossing, wild camping, and light off-roading. The body uses a large amount of carbon fiber (dry carbon), aluminum-magnesium alloy, and ABS plastic and other lightweight materials. The vehicle’s compliant modification parts do not use traditional iron metal, achieving extreme lightweight while improving body rigidity. In terms of interior, a black main tone is matched with top-grade materials and red-line carbon fiber elements, creating a luxurious and comfortable cockpit atmosphere. The vehicle is equipped with more than 1,800 standard compliant modification accessories, and the full car can carry four 30-liter off-road oil drums, allowing a comprehensive range of up to 1,700 kilometers. The T-REX Pathfinder price starts from 885,000 RMB, with differentiated pricing to be introduced later according to model and configuration.

Market Performance

The T-REX brand is positioned in the high-end pickup customization market segment, with products mainly oriented towards off-road enthusiasts, outdoor exploration crowds, and high-end pickup collectors. Due to the brand’s short establishment time and its focus on custom models, public sales data is relatively limited. In terms of brand construction, T-REX has built a member club system covering travel, outings, and other services, and regularly organizes members to conduct wilderness crossing, camping, exploration, and other pickup cultural activities to deeply enhance user stickiness.

In the parallel import market, the Dodge Ram TRX, which shares the same name as the brand, has generated significant discussion in the Chinese imported car market as a high-performance V8 supercharged pickup. However, the independent T-REX brand (Tianjin) insists on an independent development route, focusing on the niche track of "domestic heavy-duty crossing pickups," striving to build differentiated brand competitiveness.

Core Technology

The automotive-grade mold production system is T-REX's core manufacturing barrier. The T-REX Pathfinder is the world’s first heavy-duty crossing pickup mass-produced using a standardized, mold-based, and compliant production method. All parts undergo automotive-grade mold mass production, ensuring product consistency reaches manufacturer exit quality.

In terms of lightweight material application, the vehicle’s standardized modification parts are composed of three materials: carbon fiber (dry carbon), aluminum-magnesium alloy, and ABS plastic. This approach ensures sufficient structural rigidity while achieving vehicle lightweighting, thereby greatly improving cruise mileage.

Modular modification technology gives the vehicle high customizability. With more than 1,800 standard parts available for the full car, components can be flexibly combined according to customer needs to adapt to different usage scenarios.

Overseas Layout

The T-REX brand has established a global development strategic direction, determined to create a leading enterprise in the world crossing pickup industry. Through deep cooperation with domestic and foreign first-line manufacturers, the brand aims to introduce and develop new products for the global market. In terms of specific market layout, T-REX already has product export planning for overseas markets, but as of 2026, it has not disclosed substantive sales data for specific overseas markets.

Future Outlook

The T-REX brand will continue to take "original design" as the core driving force, constantly enriching the "T-REX series crossing pickup" product matrix. Based on the joint R&D foundation with multiple manufacturers, the brand plans to expand more niche product lines on the basis of existing models. At the service level, the perfect member club service system will continue to extend, creating a full ecosystem user experience around the "hardcore crossing" lifestyle. With the continuous growth of domestic off-road and outdoor lifestyle needs, T-REX is expected to further consolidate its competitive advantage in the domestic high-end custom off-road vehicle market, becoming an important participant of Chinese brands in the global crossing pickup track.
