Recently, the 1 millionth Geely Xing Yuan rolled off the production line at the Xiangtan base. Listed in October 2024, today marks 24 months. On average, a Xing Yuan rolls off the production line every 55 seconds, and one is sold every minute. The official statement is very straightforward: True Champion Without Adjectives.

These three words, 'Without Adjectives', are worth pondering. Too many champions in the car market these years, but most require qualifiers. Sales champion for pure electric SUVs above 300,000 RMB, sales champion for mid-to-large new energy vehicles, the longer the qualifier, the smaller the circle. Xing Yuan doesn't need that. In 2025, it was the sales champion for all categories in the Chinese car market, regardless of fuel or electric, regardless of class, regardless of price. As of July 2026, it has consecutively ranked first in monthly sales for all categories for 16 months. In Q1 2026, it squeezed into the top three global new energy vehicle sales, and is the only Chinese brand model on this list.

What does one million units mean? In the history of the global automotive industry, achieving one million units for a single model usually takes three to five years. Many brands rely on a pile of models to bulk up numbers. Xing Yuan achieved one million with a single car in two years.

And the speed is getting faster. May 2025, 200,000; March 2026, 600,000; August, 800,000; October, 1 million. From 600,000 to 1 million took only 7 months, the final 200,000 took two months. The sales curve for general models usually peaks first then falls, but Xing Yuan is the opposite, selling faster and faster. In August and September, monthly sales exceeded 60,000 for two consecutive months. Currently, only Xing Yuan has achieved this in the market.

Where does it win? It eliminated the concept of 'Just Enough Is Good Enough'

Xing Yuan sells well, many people say it's because it's cheap. The starting price of over 60,000 RMB is indeed cheap. But there have never been few cheap small cars, more have died out. Relying solely on being cheap cannot support one million units.

What Xing Yuan truly did is lift the standard for A0-class pure electric small cars as a whole.

Before Xing Yuan, the unspoken rule at this level was 'Just Enough Is Good Enough'. Front-wheel drive, torsion beam, small battery, hard plastic, everyone understood tacitly — anyway, people buying this car want transportation, they don't pick. After Xing Yuan came in, it directly changed the playbook: rear-wheel drive, multi-link independent suspension, CATL cells standard across the range, with Shield Battery Safety System, 70-liter front trunk, 14.6-inch large screen plus Flyme Auto cabin, Elk Test 80.7 km/h. These specs two years ago were selling points for 150,000 RMB class models.

The result is that users buying small cars found out they don't have to settle. 30% to 80% fast charge in 19 minutes, three range versions from 310 km to 480 km, weekly charge for city commuting. For the first time, this level had an experience worth talking about.

The market is the most honest. Xing Yuan's share in the A0-class pure electric market exceeds 30%, one out of every three A0-class electric cars sold is a Xing Yuan. Even more interesting is the reaction of peers — after Xing Yuan established these standards, competitors followed suit, independent suspension, large batteries, smart cabins began to trickle down. A niche market was redefined by a single car, which used to be the patent of joint venture brands.

Small car business is also hard to do. Low prices mean thin profits, no scale means losing money. Xing Yuan used a scale of one million units in two years to make this work: scale dilutes cost, cost supports specs, specs drive sales, sales nourish scale again. Once this cycle turns, the barrier for followers is not price, but the entire system.

What does this one million units mean for Geely?

In 2025, Geely Motors annual sales were 3.02 million units, new energy 1.69 million units, year-on-year growth 90%. Among them, the Galaxy brand sold 1.24 million units in a year. From brand launch to reaching 1 million annual sales, it took only 29 months, the fastest new energy brand to achieve this. And within Galaxy's million, the single Xing Yuan model contributed 530,000 units, with sales exceeding 40,000 for 7 consecutive months.

When a brand is pushing upwards, what it needs most is the foundation. Foundation is not a slogan, it's tens of thousands of units of stable monthly sales, channels across the country that can sustain it, supply chains willing to schedule production for you. Xing Yuan is Galaxy's foundation. With it supporting from below, models like Galaxy E5, Starship 7, Galaxy M9 going up have room to maneuver. The structure of Geely mainstream bottoming, high-end flagging, the base is built by cars like Xing Yuan.

Digging deeper, Xing Yuan is the first large-scale verification of the GEA Global Native Architecture. Car companies love to talk about architecture, but architecture value can only be proven by scale. One million cars on the road means this architecture's supply chain, manufacturing system, and quality stability have undergone the strictest testing. The 55 seconds per vehicle pace at Xiangtan base, behind it is the entire manufacturing system running at full load, high precision. This capability is more valuable than simply selling so many cars.

Then there is going global. Xing Yuan has entered more than 30 countries and regions, taking the electric vehicle sales crown in Thailand, number one pure electric in Jordan, number two pure electric in Mexico. In August of this year, it entered Australia, UK, France. In the first half of 2026, it ranked second in Chinese new energy hatchback exports. Chinese car companies have been shouting about going global for many years, not many products can truly stand firm in mature markets. Small cars are actually the best calling card — European streets, Southeast Asian alleys, naturally belong to this size. The cost and spec advantages Xing Yuan honed domestically, when placed overseas, represent a significant advantage.

Auto Review: In recent years, the Chinese car market has produced many legendary cars. Haval H6 proved the power of SUVs, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV proved the power of micro EVs. Now it's Xing Yuan's turn, it proves another thing: a pure electric small car costing over 60,000 RMB can win not by relying on cheapness, but by spending every penny on what users use every day.

True Champion Without Adjectives, the focus is not on champion, but on 'Without Adjectives'. Leading without qualifiers is true leadership. For the industry, Xing Yuan's one million units is more like a signal: in the second half of Chinese car market competition, it's no longer about who can tell a good story, but who can push system efficiency to the extreme. Architecture, manufacturing, supply chain, channels, globalization, no link can be short. This small car used two years to draw the passing line for this course. The following competitors, whatever they do, will be doing it later.
