On August 26, by Yanqi Lake. On the stage of the Chery Fengyun T7 launch event, Hacken Lee stood up in the role of 'Happiness Experience Officer'. This man who once sang 'A Poem for You', now chatted with the audience present about 'Steady Happiness'. To be honest, inviting celebrities to endorse car launch events has long been no news, but Hacken Lee this time didn't seem like he came to read a script—he said he walked from the stage to different cities, realizing ordinary and stable life. This feeling unexpectedly resonates with the core Fengyun T7 wants to convey.
But what really interested me wasn't the celebrity, but a truth Chery told at this launch event: 'Global cars cannot be rushed.'.

Placing this sentence in today's new energy market where 'models change every half year, generations change every year', it's almost inappropriate. But thinking carefully, Chery has the confidence to say this.
This automaker ranking first in Chinese brand passenger car exports for 23 consecutive years, has already surpassed 20 million global users, with products sold to 130+ countries and regions. Fengyun T7 is Chery Intelligence & Electrification Era's first native global model. From the beginning of R&D, regulations and standards of 210 countries/regions worldwide and vehicle usage needs were placed into the product definition upfront. To put it plainly, this car wasn't made first and then thought about where to sell, but was measured from the start with the ruler of the global market.

And then? Then came a full 3-year development cycle, cumulative vehicle testing mileage exceeding 6 million km, durability special verification 1.45 million km. From Brazil's high bump to Mexico's cobblestone road, from Germany highway's large curvature bend to South Africa's unpaved mud road, Fengyun T7's testing footprint covered over 95% of road types globally. -40°C to 55°C ultra-wide temperature range, ran through 5 major extreme environments one by one.
This 'Global First then Domestic' development logic, in the 100,000 yuan class pure electric SUV market, is almost impossible to find a second sample.
Of course, consumers won't pay for the four words 'Global Verification'. They care about: How far can this car actually run? Is it safe? Is it worth the price?

First, range. Fengyun T7 comes standard with 65.05kWh Rhinoceros Battery, CLTC range 600km. But interestingly, media actual test reached 681.6 km—marked 600 runs 680, industry calls this 'Reverse False Marking'. In the 100,000 yuan pure electric SUV market, range shrinkage for entry versions is almost an industry unwritten rule. Fengyun T7 turns it around with full series range equality. 30% to 80% fast charging takes 20 minutes, battery cycle life over 2500 times, usable for 15 years. Range can still increase by 30% at -10°C—the dual-source wide temperature range heat pump air conditioning and AGS intelligent front grille, standard on all series, did the work.
Next, safety. 80% high-strength steel, 18.84% hot-formed steel Solid Rock Body, same-class unique Shotgun structure disperses collision energy, 9 airbags—putting these data together, it already exceeds the 100,000 yuan class regular configuration list. More worth noting is Fengyun T7 was developed according to 2026 version E-NCAP 5-star safety standards. In other words, this car's safety standards aligned two years in advance with Europe's strictest crash test requirements.

Battery protection is equally not vague. IP68 waterproofing capability is 96 times the national standard, side anti-crush 200kN is 2 times the national standard. 1008 hours salt spray corrosion test, 1.5 times national standard duration fire test, a combination of punches, battery safety redundancy is left quite sufficient.
In terms of intelligence, Fengyun T7 launched the first 4nm process 8775 cockpit-driving integrated chip, NPU computing power 72TOPS. 15.6-inch 2.5K screen, response latency 80ms. Falcon 500 driving assistance system integrates 22 sensors, supports over 300 scenarios automatic parking and 100m trajectory reverse. These specs looking at parameters alone might not seem rare, but placed on the 94,900 yuan starting price point, it's a bit interesting.
In design, Fengyun T7 follows the 'Eastern Wind Driving Aesthetics' route. 0.286Cd drag coefficient counts as excellent in the same class. The Flame Orange model used Tri-coat color technology, 2K 8-layer car paint process, color layers change under different lights—such details usually only appear on cars above 300,000 yuan.

But what interests me most isn't these parameters themselves, but the logic behind Chery doing this.
The 100,000 yuan pure electric SUV market, competition has long been intensified. BYD Yuan PLUS, Aion Y, Leapmotor B10, every one is a fierce character. Most brands' tactics in this price segment are very direct: save where possible, cut where possible, make visible places beautiful, invisible places passable is fine.
Chery took the opposite road. Passing the world's strictest standards first, then taking it back to sell domestically—this 'Hard first then Easy' development logic, in the fast fish eat slow fish new energy track, appears a bit dumb. But dumb has its benefits. Fengyun T7's same-source model Lepas L6 has already launched in South Africa, Thailand, and entered Milan Design Week. Global market recognition, in a sense, is a verification of this 'Slow Work'.

Of course, this car isn't without controversy. Advanced intelligent driving only given to top trim, middle-low trims are restrained in intelligence. Compared to Deepal S05, Fengyun T7 is not advantageous in size and power. But looking at it another way, 94,900 yuan starting price, full series 600km range, global safety standards—this 'Spending budget on the sharp edge' approach, perhaps is what family users truly need.
On the day of the launch event, Hacken Lee became the Fengyun T7 owner number 1. I don't know if he really will drive this car every day, but one thing is certain: At this price, cars making global standards standard equipment, indeed not seen much in the market.
Chery said 'Global cars cannot be rushed'. It is slow, but at least the direction is correct.
