The first locally-assembled (CKD) units of the Xpeng G6 have officially rolled off the production line at EPMB's manufacturing plant in Melaka, which also means it dodges the ministry of investment, trade and industry's (MITI) CBU EV pricing policy that comes into effect on July 1, 2026.
To recap, MITI's regulations say that all incoming CBU EVs will be legally required to meet a minimum Cost, Insurance, and Freight (CIF) value of RM200,000 alongside a minimum power output requirement of 180 kW (245 PS). Being CKD, the G6 skirts this entirely.
Currently, the Xpeng G6 is sold in Malaysia as a fully imported (CBU) model from China, featuring a four-variant lineup. The range starts with the RWD Standard Range priced at RM160,000, followed by the RWD Long Range Pro at RM180,000, the AWD Performance at RM192,000, and the flagship AWD Black Edition at RM196,000.
New prices - theoratically lower, because of local assembly - haven't been announced just yet.
