Chinese automotive giant Chery is dropping digital crumbs that might be a sign of things to come for the Malaysian and regional market, as the carmaker's premium electric vehicle brand, Luxeed, has officially launched its global Instagram account that's actively being managed out of Malaysia.

Automotive manufacturers typically align their global digital assets with key regional operations or future expansion hubs, and that's all well and true in this situation - current posts promote the car for the Middle Eastern market.
However, the decision to anchor Luxeed's international social media presence under the management of a Malaysian team suggests that its models could eventually find its way to our country. After all, Chinese media portal CNEVpost reported back in January that the brand are expanding with right hand drive models (RHD) in the second half of this year.

Luxeed is a premium electric vehicle joint venture created through a strategic partnership between Chery Automobile and technology conglomerate Huawei. The brand operates under Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) umbrella.
Within this division, Chery provides the automotive manufacturing platforms, engineering development, and production facilities, while Huawei supplies the vehicle's technological infrastructure. This includes advanced autonomous driving suites, next-generation smart cockpit hardware running on the HarmonyOS ecosystem, and electric powertrain systems.
The brand's current production portfolio includes models such as the Luxeed S7 sedan and the Luxeed R7 fastback crossover, both built on an 800V high-voltage architecture with single-motor RWD (292 PS) and dual-motor AWD (496 PS) powertrain configurations.
