Budi Madani diesel announced for Pen. Malaysia; RM 2.10/litre, same system as BUDI95 petrol

Truck owners rejoice! Beginning July 2026, the price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will be subsidised at RM2.10 per litre, as announced by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the existing MyKad mechanism under the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) will be used during the implementation of the targeted diesel subsidy programme.

“The diesel subsidy will be channeled to Malaysians through MyKad validation, while non-Malaysians as well as those who aren’t eligible are required to purchase at market price” said the Prime Minister in a statement.

The MOF also announced that the targeted diesel subsidy programme will be standardised across both Peninsular and East Malaysia.

For the record, the existing Budi Madani Diesel was only eligible for East Malaysians, in which recipients received cash rebates through their registered bank account which they’ll then use to purchase diesel at market price.
