The all-new Suzuki e Vitara has made its Malaysian debut, marking the introduction of Suzuki’s first battery-electric vehicle in the country.
Priced at RM 188,000 on-the-road without insurance, the e Vitara costs RM 10,000 less than its closely related Toyota Urban Cruiser twin, which is sold in Malaysia from RM 198,000.

Naza Eastern Motors said the e Vitara would initially be offered in limited numbers, although it did not disclose the number of units allocated for the Malaysian market.
The electric SUV is built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e platform and uses a front-mounted electric motor producing 128 kW, equivalent to 174 PS, and 193 Nm of torque.

Power is supplied by a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing a claimed driving range of up to 426 km. The battery is equipped with liquid cooling and supports both AC and DC charging.
Suzuki claims a 10% to 80% DC charging time of approximately 45 minutes, while charging from 10% to 100% using a 7 kW AC charger takes around nine hours.
Three selectable driving modes are provided: Eco, Normal and Sport.

The Suzuki e Vitara measures 4,275 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Its luggage compartment offers up to 306 litres of capacity.
The Malaysian-market model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with 225/55 tyres.
Although closely related to the Toyota Urban Cruiser, the e Vitara receives Suzuki-specific exterior styling. Its design is based on the company’s “High-Tech and Adventure” theme, with pronounced wheel arches, a hexagonal front treatment and three-point lighting elements.

Five exterior colours are available:
Inside, the e Vitara is equipped with an integrated instrument and infotainment display, a two-spoke steering wheel and a floating centre console with shift-by-wire transmission controls.
Other equipment includes wireless smartphone charging, front and rear USB-A and USB-C ports, ambient lighting, a rear centre armrest and configurable rear seating.

The cabin uses a combination of Melange jersey upholstery, perforated synthetic leather and brown synthetic leather, together with piano-black and dark-silver trim.

Safety and driver assistance equipment includes Dual Sensor Brake Support II autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure prevention and a blind-spot monitor.
Rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive high beam, multiple-collision braking and a 360-degree camera system are also included.

The e Vitara is covered by a five-year, unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, a five-year or 100,000 km warranty for designated BEV components, and an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty.
The first 10 customers will also receive five years of complimentary EV charging at selected Suzuki dealerships, subject to terms and conditions.
Suzuki is currently represented in Malaysia by 14 sales outlets and 13 service centres.

Alongside the e Vitara launch, Naza Eastern Motors announced a new five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty for selected Suzuki models, replacing the previous three-year or 100,000 km coverage.
The revised warranty applies to the Jimny AllGrip Plus, Jimny Rhino Plus, Fronx and Fronx Sport.
