The BYD Yuan Up, which is sold outside of China as the BYD Atto 2, is ready to be updated with more range and bump in equipment count.
Kicking things off is the refreshed exterior design, with sources in China indicating that the updated Atto 2 will receive matrix-style vertical LED lighting elements within the headlights. Furthermore, the charging port has been relocated from the front fender to the rear, hinting at its reworked powertrain.

Yes – the front-mounted electric motor has been relocated to the rear, mirroring a similar arrangement found on the larger Atto 3.

Power output for the China-market Yuan Up ranges between 100 kW (136 PS) to 120 kW (163 PS), juiced by a choice of two battery options: 42.313 kWh and 52.468 kWh. The latter is a newer and larger battery pack that enables a CLTC-range of up to 505 km.

Beyond the slightly revised exterior, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) documents also revealed that the updated Atto 2 can be specified with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor – further improving the model’s ADAS capabilities.
Closer to home, the sole BYD Atto 2 variant is priced at RM 100,000, powered by a front-mounted motor that outputs 177 PS and 290 Nm, powered by a 51.13-kWh battery pack.
