2026 Denza Z9GT to launch in Malaysia on 15 July - 1,156 PS EV grand tourer, 10-70% in 5 minutes, APAC debut

Denza will launch the Z9GT in Malaysia on 15 July 2026, marking the all-electric grand tourer’s first appearance in the Asia Pacific region. The model arrives as Denza strengthens its premium EV push under BYD Group, with the Z9GT positioned as the brand’s flagship technology showcase.

Built around Denza’s "Technology Drives Elegance" approach, the Z9GT is not just about straight-line performance. It also serves as a demonstration of the brand’s latest EV architecture, chassis control systems and fast-charging hardware.

At the core of the Z9GT is the e3 Platform, which combines a three-motor all-wheel-drive system with intelligent vehicle control functions. Denza says the setup produces up to 850 kW, equivalent to 1,156 PS, and 1,210 Nm of torque.

That output gives the Z9GT a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 2.7 seconds, while claimed driving range reaches up to 701 km under the NEDC test cycle. These figures place the model firmly in the high-performance electric grand tourer category.

The e3 Platform also supports several dynamic systems aimed at improving manoeuvrability and stability. These include rear-wheel steering of up to 15 degrees, a turning radius of 4.62 metres, Crab Mode, Pencil Compass Turn, e3 Parking and Vehicle Motion Control.

Another key feature is the DiSUS-A intelligent air body control system, which continuously adjusts the suspension based on road conditions. Denza says this is intended to balance ride comfort and handling precision across different driving scenarios.

Power comes from BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery 2.0 with a capacity of 122.49 kWh, paired with a 1,000V electrical architecture. With BYD Flash Charging, the battery can reportedly charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes, or from 10% to 97% in around nine minutes.

Denza says the new battery pack offers about 5% higher energy density than the previous version while retaining the Blade Battery’s safety-oriented structure, including its thermal stability and resistance to nail penetration tests.

The Z9GT’s design follows a streamlined silhouette inspired by flowing silk, with Dual Line LED headlamps, Hourglass taillights and a Meteor Welcome Light signature. Inside, the cabin uses premium materials such as genuine leather and wood trim.

Equipment inside includes soft-close electric doors, active side bolsters for the front seats, a Devialet audio system with 20 speakers, three 50W wireless charging pads, a hot-and-cold refrigerator, a 495-litre rear boot and a 53-litre front trunk.

The infotainment system is powered by a 3nm processor and supports Google Built-in for a faster digital interface. After the official launch, the Z9GT will be available for public viewing and test drives at all Denza Premium showrooms nationwide from 16 July 2026.

To support the model’s arrival, BYD Malaysia will also roll out BYD Flash Charging facilities progressively at selected Denza Premium outlets. The move is aimed at improving the premium EV ownership experience and supporting Malaysia’s fast-charging ecosystem.
