Perodua Bintulu July Buying Guide: Huge Ativa and Aruz Discounts Explained

Halfway through July, Perodua's promotional campaign for the month has only two weeks left.

If you are in Bintulu and considering replacing your current car or buying your first vehicle, this is the time to pay close attention. This is not a push to buy, but the RM4,000 discount on the Ativa and Aruz this month is among the most aggressive offers of the year. With Perodua's first electric vehicle, the QV-E, just starting distribution in East Malaysia, those eager to try an EV should also consider visiting the showrooms.

Which Perodua models are on promotion this July?

Perodua's July promotion covers five core models, valid until 31 July.

Ativa and Aruz: RM4,000 Discount

These two SUVs are receiving the steepest discounts of the month. The RM4,000 offer consists of two parts: RM3,000 cash rebate + RM1,000 service voucher.

Current Ativa prices range from RM62,500 to RM73,400. After the RM3,000 deduction, the entry-level variant costs approximately RM59,500. The Ativa is currently the only Perodua model equipped with a turbocharged engine—a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit producing 98 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Its driving dynamics differ noticeably from Perodua's naturally aspirated lineup, so it is worth noting if driving feel is a priority.

The Aruz ranges in price from RM72,900 to RM77,900. After the RM3,000 reduction, the entry-level model sits around RM69,900. Positioned as a seven-seater with an SUV aesthetic, the Aruz features a ground clearance of 220 mm—higher than typical SUVs. This is particularly beneficial in Bintulu during the rainy season when road waterlogging is common, offering improved passability. Under the bonnet lies a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 102 PS and 133 Nm, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Myvi, Axia, and Bezza: Up to RM1,500 Discount

These three models are receiving a RM1,500 discount this month. While the amount is smaller than that for the Ativa and Aruz, given their already lower price points, the RM1,500 reduction remains substantial.

The current Myvi was launched at the end of 2021, with prices ranging from RM46,500 to RM59,900. Despite being on sale for several years, it has maintained a consistently strong sales volume in Malaysia.

The Axia situation is somewhat unique. The currently available Axia models fall into two categories: the second-generation D74A based on the DNGA platform, priced between RM38,600 and RM49,500; and an older Axia E variant priced at RM22,000. This RM22,000 price point makes it Malaysia's most affordable new car. For the entry-level Axia, a RM1,500 discount represents a significant percentage reduction.

The Bezza is Perodua's only sedan and Malaysia's best-selling model overall. Prices range from RM34,580 to RM49,980. If you prefer a sedan over a hatchback or SUV, the Bezza is the sole option within the Perodua lineup.

QV-E Now Available in Bintulu

An additional noteworthy development this month is that Perodua's first pure electric vehicle, the QV-E, has begun shipping its first batch of units from Peninsular Malaysia to Sabah and Sarawak.

Pricing for the QV-E is available in two options:

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): RM63,499

Full Vehicle Purchase: RM87,499

It is important to note that the QV-E is priced RM3,000 higher in East Malaysia compared to Peninsular Malaysia. This price difference is primarily due to transportation and logistics costs, a situation commonly observed across other brands in the region as well.

The QV-E's limited-time offer is valid until 30 September 2026. If you are interested in electric vehicles, this is an ideal month to visit the Perodua showroom in Bintulu to inspect the vehicle in person and schedule a test drive.

Regarding Prices

All prices listed in this article refer to Peninsular Malaysia's on-the-road prices (OTR) for reference. Actual final transaction prices in Bintulu should be confirmed with your local dealer.

Vehicles in East Malaysia typically carry a premium over Peninsular Malaysia prices, primarily due to the shipping and logistics costs incurred transporting them from the Peninsular Malaysia factory. The QV-E is a prime example—priced RM3,000 higher in the East. However, the price differential may not be identical across all models, so specific inquiries should be directed to dealers.

Practical Recommendations

First, this month's promotion ends on 31 July. While there are still over two weeks remaining and it is not overly rushed, waiting until the final days is not advisable. Popular models tend to sell out quickly during promotions, so inquiring early provides peace of mind.

Second, if you are interested in the Ativa or Aruz, this is an excellent time to purchase. The RM4,000 discount is high for the year as a whole. For comparison, the Aruz received a RM3,500 discount in June, and the Ativa received RM2,500. The jump to RM4,000 this month is significant.

Third, if you are not in immediate need of a vehicle, you may wait to see if larger promotions occur by year-end. However, the availability and magnitude of year-end discounts are uncertain at this time. If you need a car now, the July pricing is already more competitive than previous months.

Fourth, regardless of which model you choose, verify the manufacturing date on the vehicle's nameplate upon collection. Recent controversies regarding "model year" discrepancies with BYD in Australia have drawn significant attention. While unrelated to Perodua, this serves as a valuable lesson for all car buyers—always cross-check the contract details with the physical vehicle data.

Final Thoughts

Perodua's July promotion highlights the RM4,000 discount on the Ativa and Aruz—comprising RM3,000 cash back and RM1,000 service vouchers—significantly lowering the entry barrier for these two SUVs. While the RM1,500 discount on the Myvi, Axia, and Bezza is less substantial, it represents real savings for entry-level buyers.
