2026 Mitsubishi Xforce HEV debuts in Indonesia with 1.6L hybrid system, EV Mode and prices from IDR 445 million (~RM 101k)

Mitsubishi has officially introduced the Xforce HEV in Indonesia, making it the brand’s first hybrid model sold in the country. The compact SUV is locally assembled (CKD) and joins the existing Xforce range as an electrified alternative for buyers looking for lower-emission urban transport.

The new model is assembled at the PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia (MMKI) plant in Cikarang, West Java. Indonesia is the second plant in this region to assemble the Xforce HEV, as Thailand is the first. 

Deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of July 2026, while authorised dealers have already started receiving test units. 

Pricing starts at IDR 445 million (~RM 101k). For comparison, the petrol Xforce remains on sale in Indonesia as well, priced at IDR 388 million (~RM 82k) for the Exceed and IDR 399 million (~RM 91k) for the higher-spec Ultimate.

Power comes from a hybrid system built around a 1.6-litre DOHC MIVEC 4A92 petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.1-kWh battery. The petrol engine produces 107 PS and 134 Nm, while the electric motor does 116 PS and 255 Nm. The Xforce HEV is primarily driven by the electric motor, and the petrol engine can be engaged to drive the front wheels via a clutch, similar to Honda's e:HEV system.

Mitsubishi says the hybrid setup is managed through a Shift by Wire electronic transmission system, replacing a conventional mechanical shifter arrangement. The brand claims this improves shift response and smoothness.

Two new driving functions are included: EV Mode for pure electric operation and Charge Mode for battery replenishment. Those join the five terrain-oriented drive modes already offered on the Xforce, namely Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud and Tarmac.

With the hybrid system added, the Xforce now offers seven selectable operating modes in total. Mitsubishi has also made small exterior updates for the hybrid version, although the main change is clearly under the bonnet and in the drive system.

For the Indonesian market, the Xforce HEV broadens Mitsubishi’s SUV offering at a time when hybrid powertrains are becoming more important in Southeast Asia. 

Closer to home, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) launched the Xforce here a couple of months ago, across two variants (Urban & Ultimate). Prices in Malaysia start from RM 109,980 for the Urban, while the Ultimate is RM 10k more at RM 119,980.
