Hang tight Malaysia - 2026 Xpeng Mona L03 EV SUV launched in Germany from RM 161k

Xpeng has introduced the L03, a new entry-level SUV-coupé for the German market, priced from €35,600 (RRP incl. 19% VAT). The model is now available to configure online, with orders open through participating Xpeng dealers and first customer deliveries expected in Q4 2026.

Markus Schrick, Managing Director of Xpeng Sales Region Central Europe, said the L03 extends the brand's lineup with a more compact, accessible entry point while retaining XPENG's core strengths — progressive, sporty design, premium comfort and safety equipment, and strong charging performance for its class. He added that the L03 introduces a new powertrain and offer structure aimed at giving customers greater flexibility and choice.

Powertrain and Range

The L03 is built on a 400-volt architecture, offering up to 520 km of WLTP-rated range and fast charging — 20-80% in 18 minutes at up to 236-kW. Four electric variants are available:

  • RWD Standard Range: 58.3-kWh LFP battery, 180 kW/245 PS, up to 445 km range — from €35,600 (~RM 166k)
  • RWD Long Range: 71.2-kWh LFP battery, 180 kW/245 PS, up to 520 km range — from €38,600 (~RM 180k)
  • AWD Performance: 71.2-kWh LFP battery, 285 kW/388 PS, up to 440 km range — from €41,600 (~RM 194k)
  • AWD Performance "Ultra": 71.2-kWh LFP battery, 285 kW/388 PS, up to 440 km range — from €46,600 (~RM 218k)

A range-extender electric vehicle (REEV) variant will also be offered from autumn 2026, priced from €38,600 (~RM 180k). This version drives exclusively on electric power, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine acting solely as a generator to recharge the 37.25-kWh LFP battery on the move. Combined range is rated at up to 1,000 km, including more than 200 km on electric power alone.

All variants include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, letting the L03 function as a mobile power source for external devices such as e-bikes.

The L03 comes with a 7-year/160,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000km warranty on the high-voltage battery.

Exterior

At 4.65 metres long, the L03 is Xpeng's most compact model to date, blending coupé-like proportions with SUV cues and a fastback-style rear. The front features boomerang-shaped LED headlights, while the rear gets an LED light bar beneath a 1.10-square-metre rear windscreen. Flared wheel arches and raised ground clearance reinforce the SUV character.

Standard wheels are 18-inch alloys, with the range-topping "Ultra" variant fitted with 20-inch wheels and yellow brake calipers. Five exterior colours are offered — Arctic White, plus metallic finishes Midnight Black, Rock Gray, Silver Frost, and Phantom Purple — alongside the separately optioned Black Edition.

Interior

The cabin offers two colour themes in light and dark grey, paired with a dark velour headliner and soft-touch materials throughout. A large panoramic roof and ambient lighting round out the atmosphere.

With a 2.85-metre wheelbase, the L03 offers generous space despite its sloping roofline, including in the rear. Front seats are electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated, with driver lumbar support and massage function on the top variant. Cargo space includes a 367-litre boot plus an 89-litre front trunk ("frunk"), supplemented by multiple storage compartments.

Equipment

Standard equipment includes heated and ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable and heated folding mirrors, LED headlights and taillights, a sound system with nine cabin speakers plus two integrated into the driver's seat, smart navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the Xfree Breath air filtration system with PM2.5-standard particulate filtering. Three displays — an 8.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 26.8-inch head-up display — handle driver information.

A standard heat pump improves cabin efficiency and range, alongside an electric tailgate, panoramic roof, and ambient lighting.

Safety features include seven airbags and over 13 driver assistance systems under Xpeng's "XPILOT" suite, covering emergency braking, blind-spot and lane-change assistance, cross-traffic and door-opening warnings, and predictive adaptive cruise control that adjusts speed for limits and traffic lights while keeping the vehicle centred in its lane.

What about Malaysia?

Hold your horses — the Xpeng Mona L03 is an important model for Xpeng. Never mind the fact that the model just went live in Germany moments ago, recent spyshot from Australia is a strong hint that the Mona L03 will be a global model from Xpeng.

Upon the model's arrival here, it will square off in a very competitive segment, one that's currently dominated by the Proton eMas 7, BYD Atto 3, and iCaur V23/03. But unlike its core rivals, the Xpeng Mona L03 offers a sleek coupe SUV design, offering buyers a style-first option.
