Jetour Automobile Malaysia has just launched the new 2026 Jetour T1 in Malaysia, following numerous spyshots and subsequent public preview in April.
For our market, Jetour is offering not one, but two variants of the T1 – 1.5T 2WD and 2.0T XWD. The latter shares its powertrain with the T2, which we will get into below.
Prices start from RM 129,800 for the 1.5T 2WD variant, while the 2.0T XWD goes for RM 146,800.
The first 2,000 customers will receive a RM 2,000 cash rebate as well as a low interest rate (from 1.68%).
Like other Jetour models sold here, the Jetour T1 is locally-assembled (CKD) by Berjaya Assembly in Johor.
Versus its T2 sibling, the T1 adopts a less rugged exterior body design – the T1’s front and rear bumpers are less bulky than the T2, and the fenders are also less pronounced.
That said, the T1 is still more macho-looking than its other Chery stablemates, such as the Chery Tiggo 7 / 8, as well as Omoda | Jaecoo models.
The 1.5T 2WD variant offers full-LED headlights, power tailgate, and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the more potent 2.0T XWD variant offers larger 19-inch wheels.
Colour options of the Jetour T1 include Aviation Silver, Carbon Black, Khaki White, and Sand Gold.
Stepping into the cabin of the 2026 Jetour T1 and its layout is largely similar to the rugged T2. The infotainment display is slightly smaller at 12.8 inches for the 1.5T variant, while the 2.0T variant ups that to 15.6-inch – matching the T2.
The T1 1.5T 2WD gets an 8-speaker sound system, while the T1 2.0T adopts a more sophisticated Sony Premium-branded 9-speaker sound system.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support is standard for both variant, as well as a powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, 50W wireless charger, and 7 USB ports.
Starting with the Jetour T1 1.5T 2WD, it gets a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Now, this may sound similar to the unit found in the Jetour Dashing, but power output varies.
Here, the 1.5T unit produces 170 PS and 270 Nm, higher than the Dashing’s 156 PS & 230 Nm. The T1’s dual-clutch transmission also offers one additional ratio, coming at 7 forward ratios, as opposed to the Dashing’s six forward ratios.
As for the T1 2.0T XWD, it gets the same 2.0-litre turbo-four as the T2 2.0T, which produces 245 PS and 375 Nm. The same 7-speed DCT automatic is also found on the T2 2.0T XWD.
The Jetour T1 1.5T is a front-wheel drive model, while the 2.0T XWD is all-wheel drive, the latter offering Jetour’s 7+X drive modes: Normal, Eco, Sand, Snow, Sport, Rock, and X-Mode.
