CKD 2026 Proton eMas 7 PHEV previewed – Premium & Premium Plus now add massage seats

Less than 6 months since the Proton eMas 7 PHEV was launched in Malaysia, Proton has rolled out the locally-assembled (CKD) units from its Tanjong Malim plant.

While the variant count remains unchanged – Prime, Premium & Premium Plus, the latter now adds massage seats up front, matching the recently-launched eMas 7 Premium Plus.

Pricing of the CKD Proton eMas 7 PHEV will be announced during the model’s launch soon. Proton has also mentioned that the eMas 7 PHEV CKD has 30% local content. 

The rest of the CKD Proton eMas 7 PHEV is identical to its CBU brethren.

Power for the Proton eMas 7 PHEV comes from a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, comprising of a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre BHE15-DFN four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 11-in-1 dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Combined system output, according to Proton, is 193 kW (262 PS) and 262 Nm.

The Prime variant gets a 16.4-kWh LFP battery pack, enabling a pure electric range of up to 105 km under the NEDC cycle. DC fast charging goes up to 30 kW for the Prime variant.

As for the Premium and Premium Plus variants, they get a larger 29.8-kWh LFP that enables a pure electric range of 170 km (NEDC). These two variants also benefit from faster DC charging which goes up to 60 kW.

The current CBU units are priced from RM 109,800 for the Prime, RM 123,800 for the Premium, and RM 129,800 for the Premium Plus variant.
